This is a really great sentiment and scene, but I feel like it would have been way more poetic if she'd been greeted by Thor's mom, who died saving Jane. Like you don't even have to change any of the lines, just put Frigga in place of Heimdall and suddenly it's way more personal for Jane.
yeah but Idris had contractual obligations that Disney were willing to cash in on. Where as Rene Russo did not and Disney probably had to pay her more money.
It is possible that given how long it had been since Thor II that it would have been to difficult to make Rene Russo look like she hadn't aged. Of course I'm probably giving them to much credit here. The idea is a great one.
I don't think you understand the concept of Paradise, or Heaven. You are in a state of pure wonder, awe, bliss, love, and surrounded by absolutely mesmerizing beauty and magnificence. At least based on the Religious definitions of the Heavens. You won't be bored for a moment in eternity. There is no concept of time. Time does not exist in Paradise.
@@miamijim5964 The highs from MDMA and Ket are practically nothing compared to the infinite bliss of paradise. Again, that's the nature of eternal life in the heavens. If it was boring, or sad, or suffering, then they wouldn't call it heaven or paradise.
The post-ending credits scene reveals Jane Foster being worthy to arrive at Valhalla upon dying, being received by Heimdall (Idris Elba). This is the first time in four years that Elba reprises his character, after Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
They really Hollywood all over that character, letting a black guy play the Aesir historically knows as Heimdall the White. Idris seems to love playing raceswapped characters.
@@adalwulf435 does that disturb you? Good thing he didn't get chosen as the new James Bond as had been speculated upon, you probably would've had a stroke.
@@Hyogasaint I literally don't care. It might be a little odd, but that's no different than getting a Black guy to play Nick Fury in the MCU. Or going in the other direction, Casper Van Diem (a super-white guy) in Starship Troopers played a guy who was a Filipino in the original novel.
I think it has more to do with the fact that she knowingly & willingly sacrificed her life to the cancer in order to help Thor defeat Gorr. She knew that even one more transformation would mean certain death, but she did it anyway because the battle needed fighting and Thor needed help.
In Norse mythology, Valhalla is described as a place created by Odin for the bravest warriors who died in battle will rest until Ragnarök. After which, the world shall begin anew.
It’s kinda sad though that Jane will never see her friends or family ever again since she went to vahalla instead of an actual afterlife made for normal humans
@@JessicaGarcia-xf9wr Valhalla is said to be ruled by Odin so he might at least allow her to see her family through a magic circle or through Heimdall from time to time... I'm sure Odin or Heimdall wouldn't mind coz she's worthy.
Considering that it's just another universe like how khonsu explained in moon knight, it might be possible that she might be back in either phase 4 or 5.
“Lo, there do I see my father. Lo, there do I see my mother, and my sisters, and my brothers. Lo, there do I see the line of my people, Back to the beginning! Lo, they do call to me. They bid me take my place among them, In the halls of Valhalla! Where the brave may live forever!”
We know that Aunt May is there as well. She definitely died a warrior's death in combat. Diving into the battlefield, even if it's to save lives, she also went there with the intent to swing as well.
I think the personal beliefs is also what matters. Its not like every soldier goes to Valhalla even tho he doesnt believe in it. If the person belives in Heaven he will go there if he lived a good life, but if he had his norse pagan phase and died from something other than heroicly in battle then he can freeze for all eternity in Hel.
Are they really dead, though? As the myth says those heroes in Valhala will return ti fight again in the end days. Valhalla even in Marvel is said to be another realm were the gods and heroes reside. Stands to reason that when she died a heroes death while wielding the power of a god and at the lake of eternity, she entered her second life as a goddess
@@c.a.t.732 Well, I doubt her parents are in Valhalla. They had nothing to do with Asgard or Norse mythology. Even if they're somewhere else than Heaven, them being in Valhalla is highly unlikely. Meaning she won't ever see them, unless she can somehow leave Valhalla and visit them wherever they reside.
@@proximashining776 How do you know what her parents believed in? There are, after all, followers of Norse paganism in the world. And the gods traveled from Valhalla to other realms all the time.
No, Loki is not there. You not watching TV show "Loki". He became the ultimate "God of Stories", where Odin is just little dust for him. Loki is the new one "He who remains"
@@radioideaxpThat's a different Loki variant though, the one who escaped with the Tesseract during Endgame. The original Loki who was killed by Thanos in Infinity War is very much dead and should be in Valhalla because he died in a fight, protecting his brother.
NO WAY he killed millions of innocent people, his homicidal robot killed half a city, and he killed the other half to right his wrong, also there is the FACT that all his technology that he KEPT ONLY FOR HIMSELF stated an INTERGALACTIC WAR on earth,🤦♂️🤔 how many millions of people died as a result of HIS ACTIONS, how does he deserve to go to Valhalla
Even thou, This movie is it really good. But, to see, Jane Foster. been part of the people of Valhalla. is a pretty sweet moment. Plus she look so hot with outfit, along with the new Hair cut.
I’m still hoping for a Jane Foster Mighty Valkyrie miniseries on Disney+ where Jane is resurrected as an Asgardian and later becomes a Valkyrie showing her responsibility as a ferrywoman of Valhalla, recruiting Asgardians that have died in battle whilst wielding the Undrjarn (made from the remains of Odin’s fallen weapon Gungnir, yes in the comics it’s made from the remains of Mjolnir in a different universe) alongside her talking winged horse companion Mr Horse by her side. The miniseries would be more like Dr Quinn Medicine Woman meets Highlander.
Why would anyone want a second chance at life if the afterlife is essentially the same thing only better? And why would anyone who absolutely knew there was an afterlife fear death in the least? And if you knew there was an afterlife, why would dying for your cause be considered a big deal? . . . And lots more questions.
with all the bad jokes in this moive, there was a missed opportunity here. You should have had jane trip over Sif's hand. They set it up earlier, Thor said Siff's hand would be in Valhalla because it got cut off holding her weapon.
I hated the film but knowing that when Thor eventually dies he’ll go to his mother, father, brother, best friend, lover and past friends from long ago is a lovely thought
I sure hope that this will lead into a potential spin-off/pseudo sequel series on Disney+ where Jane is resurrected by the spirit of Odin as an Asgardian and a new entity known as the Mighty Valkyrie, wielding the all weapon Undrjarn made from the remains Odin’s fallen weapon Gungnir. In the miniseries, Jane would travel through the multiverse alongside her talking Winged Horse Companion Mr Horse recruiting deceased Asgardians who have died in battle and communicating with the dead, staying true to Jane’s role as a ferrywoman of Valhalla. This potential spin-off would lead into Avengers Secret Wars and boy it would be so satisfying seeing Jane in her role as Mighty Valkyrie team up with Thor one final time in the latter, ending the 15 year storyline for her.
@@lovelyygI know that but it’s my idea that I based on the comics (with Undrjarn being made from the remains of Gungnir rather than an alternative universe of Mjolnir).
I actually wouldn't be surprised if we got to see more of Valhalla in the next Thor movie. Thor could visit Valhalla either if he (temporarily?) dies or as a part of some quest. We saw at the end of Thor 4 that Zeus sent his son after Thor, so the plot of the next Thor movie could be Thor against the Greek gods. And gods are associated with afterlife, so... We were already shown two different afterlives in the MCU, governed by different ancient gods - Egyptian in Moon Knight and Norse/Asgardian in Thor 4. Once might be coincidence but twice is intent. They might be planning something with this. We could have Thor's reunion not just with Jane but also with Frigga, Odin, his deceased friends, even Loki. But perhaps I'm just overly optimistic.
She didnt deserve to be their in Valhalla she should be in heaven she fought very well risking her life with cancer but .but she is human and not like other gods she is made by god she is not goddess she deserve to be in heaven. And never fought many battles as gods did
Jane gave up her chance to survive the cancer, by picking up Mjolnir again and going to battle. Had she left Mjolnir alone and stayed in the hospital, she might have recovered, OR, she might have died, but would not have made it to Valhalla. She knew picking up Mjolnir again would kill her... yet she did it anyway, to go into battle to help Thor. THAT decision, cemented her admission to Valhalla.
Sort of off topic: So Loki is walking around here somewhere because he died by Thanos' hands and the Warriors Three should be there too because Hela killed them; but...what happened to Sif? She never shows up on Asgard after helping Thor escape with Jane. She helps SHIELD with stuff on Earth throughout the series, but she doesn't appear in any of the movies after Dark World. Is there lore that she dies off scene in Ragnarok?
In the comics, Jane gets resurrected as a Valkyrie so I wouldn’t be surprised if they do adapt the Jane Foster Valkyrie/Mighty Valkyries comics into the MCU.
Ngl I was salty when Jane died because I still wanted to see more of Mighty Thor, but this made me very happy. She may still have a chance to return, but if not she’s at least in Valhalla.
You know if Thor does die in a later movie, I hope they make a scene with him here so that he can see everybody that he lost. He would get to see his parents, he’d get to see Heimdall and his friends, Jane would be there, and of course, he would get to see Loki again!
Welcomed into Valhalla a hero....is a great thing and Jane is very worthy of this. Carried into the Great Hall on the shoulders of heroes....reserved for a select few. Till we meet at the table.
Jane's reaction to entering Valhalla reminded me of the "This is the End" movie ending... half expected her to ask for a Segway and the Backstreet Boys.
