@@strauqq1. Yes, it was a bit tinny sounding due to the metallic, industrial style of the new jack swing sound. Michael Jackson's Dangerous album was very much the same (except for "Who Is It") and it ended up ageing those projects quite quickly. Thin baselines don't work, especially on dance music.
@@MCharlerySmith Bad comparison Mathew. The Dangerous album had an amazing mix and master and was well balanced with the mids. That was a hard driving masterpiece. Are you kidding me?
@@strauqq1. No. For me, the quality of mixing was different but the musical problems were the same. New jack swing was just too hard on beats not enough in the groove; it's why Bad sounds more timeless, also Invincible. Listen to "Jam", a classic example, the baseline which comes in towards the middle and end climaxes just don't hit. This is noticeable throughout the entire album.
