Yes! It is actually Nigerian dance steps and couture. Janet said it herself on a radio show while promoting the song. Look up Nigerian music videos and you will see those dances. They invent new dance steps all the time.

Lol Then let me add mine. I noticed Ghanaian influence since afrobeats has high life origins and that originated in Ghana. And also Southern African influences. I just hope Africa gets recognized amongst all this. I see people going on about Latino and Carribean this and that and few people actually giving respect to Africa. Sorry, but this whole interview is sickening...between the excited female host and the mousy sound of an aging Janet. Perhaps the host was annoyingly trying to just keep us awake with Janet despite her being a legend.

Janet will be embarrassing herself doing a duet with Bruno. Bruno can sing his ass off live and Janet sounds like garbage live. The song will sound good on wax because of the studio engineering, BUT she is not a live singer. She lip syncs and dance. That is why you never see her doing a duet with other artist.

And if you have not seen clips of her recent VMA 2018 live performance, check it out. Her pitch does not have to be super strong, but the live efforts with dance moves is very much present and not auto tune with mumbling in the mic. AKA lip sync...Janet and Britney. Still I will give all artist credit to longevity.
