Janet was well over due for an actress related award...Being black is hard in Hollywood.They give us credit the least little thing we do then take it away...The music BILLBOARD AWARDS STII OWE HER CORRECTION.They never gave props to the fact of her having number one hits that they rail to include with what she already won!!! Her brothers launched her. She watched them practice while she was playing. She's a genius so she was learning and absorbing. Their fame gave her the launching pad to act then surprise surprise. We all find out SHE IS A MUSICAL GENIUS HERSELF. Still alive and kickin it.

Janet deserved it because she broke out and played and unexpected role. How many times have Loretta & Ruby Dee played somebodies mama!?!?..Also hairspray was a lame remake..the original is way better.
You know why I didn’t think about it like that. It looked to me while Loretta Devine was smiling she didn’t seem to be happy janet won and because she had more experience some people thought she should have won instead including her but you made a good point.

+angel i think actors/actresses who go to school and study acting look down on those who do not act full time and especially (primary) musicians who venture into acting...even though we know jan considers herself BOTH. But this is just what i have heard from "serious" actors
Yo, I was just thinking the same thing. Go figure, maybe she was upset that she didn't win. She was sitting there like" Y'all better be lucky y'all gettin' this half ass smile I givin' right now". She knows the cameras are rolling everywhere. She should have faked it ( after all she is an actress) and we would not be talking about this. Talk about obvoius hating Wow.

....yeah she only had that one baby boy so as long as she watches what she eats...and works out her waist will stay snatched...she rocks the best waistline in the business...and with her luscious BOSOM....and INSANE ASS...she will always snatch your breath...and she does not wear gowns that often so it was a treat to see her in a nice gown...i think it's THIERRY MUGLER....and YES...there is a sewing pattern for it...
