Because doing an over the top production can mean she is not enough to put on a good show. At this point, she wanted to challenge and prove herself that merely showing up is all that she needed to do and she can still give a show of a lifetime. No need to impress. And she is right. She didn’t deprive her audience. All the rnb choreo are masterpieces. No one dances to rnb music like the Janet team. Sometimes, less is more.
I think this allows her to take her tour to fans in multiple places more easily. Like in Japan she played in multiple cities. The stage and lighting are good enough for me. But I would prefer to see brighter costumes and more dancers including females as well.
I went to her 2001 All For You tour in the US and it was super awesome. You guys should watch the recordings. If it wasn't for Sep 11, she would've taken that tour to move countries. It's unfortunate because that was Janet at her peak.
Janet been proving for years now she doesn't need a huge production to give a good show she likes to see everyone see her talent without heavy lights, constant backdrops and dramatic staging.
