And these youngsters didn't think we partied 😂. Austin, Threadgills was my hangout when going into town. My girls always painted on graffiti wall 😎 GLM. Grey Lives Matter 😁
@@peacefulone4461 Same here🙋♀️ I saw Janis Joplin in concert on my 16th B-day > Dec.19, 1969 > NYC ... I will always remember that night. Is this in NYC or Europe?
@@jilltoppo422 It's funny Janis sang Oh, Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz ... my friends all drive Porsches ... when she actually drove a Porsche 😆
Saw Janis w/Big Brother And The Holding Company in 1968 when I was 14, second row from the stage at the Denver Auditorium Arena. Still the best concert I've ever been to.
I’m 75 and old enough to have heard Janis blow the roof off one night in LA. She still stands alone as one of the greats and still gives me goose bumps.
i dont know, why so many people say, that she was ugly...to me she is so beautyful! much more than the singing Dolls today. She was real and so touching.Maybe to much for some People...LOVE YOU JANIS-THE ONE AND ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She was a natural beauty, never wore make-up, janis was janis, far from ugly , had a heart to big for this world, she sang & made music the best there was, hope she is having fun with the rest of the best up there, God bless you janis & thankyou for your music,
That's because most people don't know jack about beauty. It's not dolled up in pretty dresses, and make up. I still think that the Queen of England is one classy lady. I'm an American and I'd bow to her. Then again I was taught manners and I'm a Southern Country Boy at hard who went barefoot as much as I could, accept in church or formal places.
@@w.allencaddell6421 Being a old hippy mysel from the late 60s never had a taste for shoes walk many a mile no shoes yes the queen is a classy lady I agree there, take care
I am 71, and Janis takes me back to the free days. I so wish I could have been at one of her concerts. She touched every part of my heart- she sang straight from her total heart- from her toes to top of her head. Like Van Gogh, she had more feeling than the world could understand. Absolutely no one like her since she left us.
In the Early '70's The Freedom Train stopped and Janis Joplin came out of the side door with a fifth of whiskey in her hand and asked me if I'm coming with or am I going to just stand there. So I climbed on in and found myself waking up in Vancouver!!! I always love her!!! She Was The Sixties Poster Child and will always be! God Bless her & keep her safe, she is missed by all!
I'm jealous. I'm actually glad I didn't ever party with her (I probably would have had a much shorter life) But I wish I could have met her and seen her performance live. She really could sing the blues! Blues always have made me feel better. I need that now more than ever. Thank you Janice, you are a Pearl
Janis Joplin. My first concert! I was 15. I am 68 now. So grateful she was in our world. So grateful she knew, and performed, with every cell of her being, the BLUES. Authentically and masterfully. 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
Today "something got the hold on me" and I had to listen 1st to Joe Cocker and then to Janis. I cried, yes I did, such strength and believe and authenticity that only now at 69 I can understand there was when we were 16. Cheers!
I love this show she was in her zone she was Unstoppable nobody could not match your voice one of the greatest he had to leave us at a young age the whole world the whole world was green she was a queen of rock and roll
I am 53. My mother used to sing this song to put me to sleep. I was a baby. Really don't remember her actually singing it to me. She's told me so many times. I do know that when I do hear this song I fee a sense of l calm come over me. I think of my Mom as well. She gave me a great music library. I saw J. Geils when I was 9y\o. 1978. In fact I got to watch the whole show setting side stage. I guess cause I was the only kid there. The band was impressed that I knew the words to most of their songs. Thanks Sharon for introducing me to such great music. I love you n Janis!
@@grahamwalker5693 Don't know where your coming from, but I seen her live a few times , And she was great ! If your talking about Brad you are wrong on that aspect as well. I was close and respected them all , great blues no matter how you cut it !
She was my favorite.🌹❤️😇Loved her music. Glad I saw every concert I could. No one will take her style away.Keeps blowing in the wind to her fans.Stepping back in time to her music.
Soy del 89 no crecí escuchando si música pero la he descubierto y es impresionante que triste no tenerla emtre nosotros su voz es la mejor sin duda llega al corazon
At the time where she play this gig I was 9 years old and my parents where not so happy about my listening to this. But I love this songs every day a little bit more. Now I am 62 years old and and I like it so much.🌻🍺🤘
Many of us still listen to the incomparable Janis Joplin. I had the great privilege to see her live at the Texas International Pop Festival 1969, 2 weeks after Woodstock. She was mesmerizing live! Rest in Peace Janis; thank you for revitalizing the Blues!
I spent my whole summer vacation between 6th and 7th grade listening to Janis . It was a hard time for me. She got me through my youth. I have no words that can describe her!
Wonder if ROK. Erickson , of 13th floor elevators, had any influence on Janis Joplin? And, what concert was this and where? Name of tune, because it's a good rock an roll blues song; prior her singing "Piece of my Heart."
A beautiful butterfly who stayed for a little while. Nobody could ever come close to her amazing gift. She left us and flew high with wings of freedom ... Love you Janis, always❤️
I agree I absolutely love Janis. She is the best. Past, present n future. My second favorite female artist is ELLE KING. Check here out. Her video "Little bit of lovin". If you love Janis you will love ELLE. Check her out please n Thank You✌️
I saw her at the Fillmore East in 1969. She wore an amazing while lame top and bell-bottoms. But, oh, that voice! Such power! She was a musical force to be reckoned with.
OH MY! Fillmore East 1969! The matriarch of the 60's! What a real golden memory! God Bless You!!!! I miss her so much that I get weepy when I hear her sing, & I can't help it...
You're so blessed to have seen her, Elaine. I always wanted to but was only 12 or so when she did this concert. Still love her energy and voice. At least now I'm sure she's met Billie Holiday and the blues greats who went before her...
She felt every note, every beat of the drum. And every feeling of the words. God I loved experiencing her. Brings tears to my eyes in 2020--I'm 69 and I can see her performance at Woodstock like it was right NOW!!!
I'm 60. Got given radically serious brain injury by Goldman Sachs Gorter Family Foundation so after waking covered in mould from six months unconcious in a caravan wet bed I survive on food powder and creek water like a bottle fed baby and shuffle from bed to couch, begging for help. Last colonial private prison island controlled by a missionary. Aotea aotearoa, great barrier island new Zealand
it is near impossible to try to find someone like Janis that can 'channel' emotion they way does....She is utterly under-rated, even to this day...her performances always bring tears to my eyes...RIP, Janis...thank you for sharing us with you.
Janice Joplin and passion. I've never seen a singer with such passion before. This is amazing. I'm 50 years old, and this lady was something special. Never seen anything like it.
She was Great..her Voice is Unique,
s.m Wow, you have a history of seeing Janis Joplin. It's been a long time, and I haven't been born yet, now I am 48 years. It's amazing because you're still here today. I hope you are still healthy and that you are old enough now. And how old are you now.
That was really cool how everyone got up on stage and danced with Janis. There were no barriers there just people communicated with peace love and acceptance. Not to mention the love of great music. Also the great respect and admiration for the one singing.
Janis Joplin , SEM Palavras Amo Essa Cantora , PRA MIM como se Estivesse Viva Ainda até hoje Ela , deichou o seu Legado maior cantora De Rock De to-dos o Tempo Parabens.👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️
She played Hippie Hill lin Houston. Back then it was not yet Houston though. Saw a lot of free concerts there ...people dressed in body paint ....it was a great time even though the conflict stayed on our minds you see we thought our brothers and friends would come home in a box so we celebrated life constantly
Well I am 76 and came looking for the best voice of any woman I had ever heard. She sang with her soul, her heart and gave us her spirit. Hope to meet you on the other side Janis
Kathleen, Those that put her down were not members of our Generation . They can't feel anything when it comes to her ability to deliver songs with such conviction plus she was the real deal & those that couldn't grasp that lost out . We know better !!!!
Janice's doctor told her that her style of singing was destroying her vocal cords and she had to quit but she couldn't so...... it's mad to love so deeply but we must
Right on! People can be such monsters. It's like they can smell the gentle spirits and they do all they can to crush them. It makes their cowardly black hearts feel powerful. Damn those ducks! I pray Janis can feel the love from all of us!
AGREED THOSE MENTAL MEAN SPIRITED DWARFS ARE A STENCH IN THE NOSTRILS OF HUMANITY WHEN THEY WERE PASSING OUT BRAIN THE WEREN'T ON THE LINE BLESS YOU FRIEND STAY WELL AND HEALTHY ENJOY LIFE RESPECT 🙏😉
The music industry did not create this Woman ,She showed them what real music was , sang from Her soul ,She put it all out there for all to witness, pain and all
Sir George Martin created the music industry. i think. EMI Studio #2, Abbey Road, London, UK. RIP. RIP Brian. RIP John RIP George. thanks for listening.

I couldn’t agree more Linda ! I’m 65 and I was just starting to love her when I learned she was already gone. Just like Steve Ray Vaughn. 🙁🎸But I still love and listen to them both.
What a Great Voice as well as an Artist and human being🖤🖤❤️If you were lucky enough to live while Janis was alive...you would know how extraordinary she was . All her songs had definition and meaning
Janis Joplin e Clássico Janis Joplin e Eterna !!!! E Amo a Janis !!!!!! Vou ouvir a Janis Joplin ate o último dia de minha vida Essa voz e inesquecível E insubstituível Araruama RJ Brasil
Janis got her revenge when she went to her high school reunion as a "LEGEND"!!!! She had every last one of those "Bullies" eating their words!!! Love You Janis, You Live On With Your Spirit and Powerful Voice!!!! Thank You..
I've been grown with your lyrics, Janis... Yow know in Russia we have a sentence, the men will never dies, until the memory is still alive! You are live in my heart. and my my kids are also sing your songs... and i'm sure i'm not along... greetings, Janis! we're living!!!
One Janis. Never another. Like a brilliant Comet she lit our skies with her music. Anyone who cannot respond to her must be snoring in their Soul. Bless her!
Most folks nowadays do not have a clue about how many doors were busted down, by Janis, by Jim Morrison and the Doors, by Jimi Hendrix and all of them will live forever because they gave us a piece of their hearts.
Happy to see her play these songs for us all , yeh she's one of a kind and her personality is so great she can really move she can really jam she can really rock and she can make us feel so good thank you Janice we love you oh yes Debbie
