Guys, seeing your delight, appreciation and the expressions on your faces as you discovered this amazing masterpiece defines what a good reaction video should be and shows that Janis' unique powerful voice can still evoke its magic 50 plus years later. No one else has a voice like Janis such raw emotion, soul and passion; she truly gave a "piece of her heart" to all of us in her music!

"Piece Of My Heart" was Janis Joplin's biggest hit up until she passed away, then it was eclipsed by "Me And Bobby McGee". Janis Joplin"s talent was unique, she's down and gritty, then soft and vulnerable, full of soul and passion, most definitely one of a kind. This was awesome, Thanks!

YES The original Queen of Rock!! Most definitely my #1 female rocker. So happy to see you two back at it with Janis. Don't wait so long for her next one. Check out "Ball & Chain" but gotta do the one live at the Monterey Pop Festival in '67. She wasn't well known yet until this performance. She OWNED that stage!!! I sent you both the link to that particular performance. I thought y'all reacted to "Ball & Chain" already but I couldn't find it. Anyway thnx George & Patrick .. awesome reactions .. Peace Out ☮️🤘🏼❣️ 😊 BTW: Need to watch this one yall just did on live vid .. her rock holler is the best!! I just love Janis .. RIP Pearl🥰

Thanks so much guys. Listening to this brought back one of my favourite memories - summer 1970, Festival Express, Toronto. When I knew Janis started singing I managed to work my way up to very close to the stage. I was mesmerized by her voice and stage presence. Just amazing! I think it was about 4 months later she died.

I just went back and rewatched Janis's performance of "Ball and Chain" at Monterey Pop. Wow! I think I haven't seen that since I was in my twenties --thirty-plus years ago. I defy anyone to give a more impassioned performance than Janis and Big Brother & The Holding Company did that day! Cass Elliot was blown away by the performance! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-X1zFnyEe3nE.html

Legend is a word used way to often to describe musicians and singers but somehow for Janis Joplin is does not seem a strong enough word, she was above a legend, there was no one else with her talent, her soul, her heart, her passion.

LET ME LIVE - QUEEN The song was originally recorded in 1983 in a different version called Piece of My Heart, in which Freddie Mercury sang the song in duet with Rod Stewart (this demo is still unreleased to this day), during the recording sessions for the album The Works. , but in the end the track was not included in the final tracklist of the disc as it was not considered convincing enough as the other 9 that appeared on the album. In reality, the gospel beginning of the original version in part resembled Janis Joplin's Piece of My Heart and at the last moment, due to copyright problems, this part was removed and the title was changed.

I love this song, Janis Joplin was an amazing singer, very sad that she died so young. Great voice and a great presence on stage, I've seen her performances on RU-vid. Other great female singers that you haven't reacted to yet - Dusty Springfield. She had a great voice and one of her best songs is Son of a Preacher Man (1968). Also Patti Smith, fantastic voice with great songs such as Dancing Barefoot (1979) and Because The Night (1978), the latter written by Bruce Springsteen. Thanks so much for your reaction, guys, there are a lot of great female singers out there, I've just recommended a couple! Take care.

@@surlechapeau Yes, Dusty had so many great songs and what a fantastic voice. Another fab song is I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself and I think she did a version of this song Piece of my Heart too. Her version was called Take Another Little Piece of my Heart (1968). I was reading that this was from her album Definitely Dusty (1968) and John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin of course) played bass and also arranged the music.

There's a great video of her doing 'Move Over' live on the Dick Cavett show, you'll love that. Watching her perform live gives the songs another dimension. Another great rocker is 'Down On Me', great singing from Janis and a ripping, crazy guitar solo. You have to get the right version, I know it's on the greatest hits album. There's a 'quieter, calmer' version that isn't quite the same. And for a departure check out 'Bye Bye Baby', she sings a bit 'softer' and the music is very cool.
