Tutorial on how to use the AcuFeed Flex system on the Janome Memory Craft 6700P sewing & quilting machine. The information in this video can be applied to these other machine models, because of how similar the machines are:
Elna eXcellence 720PRO
Elna Elnita ef72
If you have one of these machines, please note that your machine will have a different color scheme, and may include a different set of accessories

I noticed that when using the AcuFeed, the stitching plate you used is the zigzag and not the straight stitch. Why? I need help in knowing what to use as a reference to ensure a 1/4” seam while sewing on binding…..if I move the needle to,the right the seam is a very wide 1/4”. Recommendations appreciated. The 6700 tutorials you share are the absolute best. I have had my machine a week and constantly refer to them for better understanding of how to safely use this work horse.

I love my Janome 6700, too. Unless I am sewing very flexible fabric like fine knit, I just use the standard zig-zag plate. When using the Accu-feed the best way I know to get an even seam allowance it to choose a place on the foot to match my fabric edge up to, such as the edge of walking part or the inside of the foot's toe. Then you can finetune it by moving your needle right or left. Also, use a longer stitch length, like 3.0 or 3.5, when going through many layers like binding. Hope this helps!

I used my walking foot for the first time today for a simple straight stitch. I was making a quilted doll blanket for my niece. One of the problems I had was my stitch length was changing as I sewed. I truly was not pulling or having resistance as the "sandwich" advanced. I am not sure why or what was happening. I will try some test strips, however is it possible the machine has a problem?

Main thing I dislike about both, zipper, 1/4” feet is that you must use a leader material as it does not grab at the needle, it’s behind , leaders are a must! Worked that out by experience 😮 for the normal walking foot, always measure the distance of the needle! I’m use to using the side of the foot and #4 1/4” width.. using the walking foot is not accurate at all! It’s wider than the regular foot.. 😔

My hook keeps coming out while I am quilting. It seems random. What am I doing wrong? Also, about 75% of the time when I use my thread cutter, when I go to start a new seam, my needle comes unthreaded. Why?

Not sure about the "hook" problem. But try holding your thread tails for the first few stitches. That will help keep the take up lever from coming unthreaded. Also, try changing to a different type of needle, such as quilting, microtex, topstitch, or embroidery. Also, check your tension. it should be balance for piecing, and maybe a little tighter for free-motion, to avoid eyelashing on the back. 'Hope these tips help.
