Thanks Larry. This and the last video with the bearings were very interesting. Always been a tool guy. Worked on lots of big machinery, however not trucks or trailers. Really like these kinds of videos. What I don't understand is why people will "dislike" this kind of stuff.
Hey Larry, u r Actually a very good teacher. U remind me of my late grandfather who new just about everything. He was the best God rest his soul. Your friend 👟 Shoey 👟
Mr Larry you are the man the only thing missing is Mr John the pole dancer helping you out 😆😆😆 enjoyed the video be safe and God bless you and say hello to your dad go your dad for me
Another video filled with information for someone wanting to be a mechanic the videos that you have done of you working on Big Blue and the trailer repair a young mechanic could learn a lot again another great video Larry stay safe hope your finger is ok
You should get some sponsorship from the manufacturer of that kit; that is a better job of marketing the product than anyone could create. At least you should put out word that you are willing to try out and review truck and trailer related products. As always I enjoy someone else working and explaining what they are doing. I've never worked on something that large, but appreciate the skill and knowledge. I would bet truck/trailer mechanics watch your channel. So many people on You Tube don't know what they are talking about. You have knowledge based on practical working knowledge. Been having some real wide swings in temperature and weather down here in Central Texas. Tell more stories! I saw the orange cat in your videos. You might think about getting some of these big rubber stall pads used with some livestock to lay down when you are working; they interlock and would help insulate you from the cold and the dirt. They are made from recycled tires and are available at most ranch supply stores.✔👍
I get contacted by companies all the time but I don’t really like that idea because they want you to sign contracts on what you’re going to say and such. I like to be able to speak my mind. I’m thinking about working with a company when I overhaul my own truck though, it’s a company I have dealt with in the past and they are very good at what they do
Hey Larry as a truck mechanic apprentice I like the part about the bracket I've seen the installed wrong before and I've been questioned about it and I've always explained it like you have
If you happen to get in a certain someones Volvo, You may want to leave a souvenir (Johnny JR) under the covers in the bunk... I can almost hear him saying... "Holy Smokies, What is this??"
Hey Larry Great mechanical skills,as usual, sorry to hear about your finger, hopefully you’ll go to clinic. If I may continue, you go way above the call ,working OUTSIDE in the cold, etc., you rule! If I ever come across you , first round on me. Take care and safe journeys.
Thanks The people in the trailer have taken over feeding the cats, every time I come home I just make sure there’s food if not then I go buy another bag. They’re kind of fat LOL
LHL. IMPRESSIVE.. Outside even.Used to work on cars and trucks yrs ago and drive too at the same time. Have done a lot but that was good. Every trucker should see this and the Dot as well. ADL Gets the bypass. Nice equipment and maintenance! Thumbs up to boss hog and you. Nice!
Sir Larry !! Gots to hand it to ya as you can work with the gloves on !! With my big hands,,I Had to work without gloves & it gets cold ,,,had minor frost bite more than once !!! Anyhows,,another great learning video for the viewers !!! Hows the hand doing ?? Hope you enjoy your playtime activities !!! Did you get the RV Insulated the way you wanted ??? KEEP IT SAFE !!! Johnny boy is gona play in the ice/snow in TN/VA on I-81 !! CONGRATS on the 12K now !!
Hi Larry, another great instruction video. I hope the bossman gives you double for working in those bad weather temps! My old 5 tons were air over hydraulic, so I never saw how the air systems really worked.
A real talent. With your own tools, rudimentary facility, you are much more valuable to ADL as a mechanic vs. driving. What do you like better, or I bet its nice to have a change op pace in your work.
Hey Larry, I'm really enjoying your channel, I found you through Johns channel and I kinda lost interest in his channel cos there's only so many windows you can see washed and I don't do the god thing but I wish him well, I'm lovin the wrenching vids, take care man.
That is really neat Larry! I never knew how semi trailer brakes worked. I was behind a semi the other day and his trailer brakes kept locking up. Seemed like the lightest braking would cause his wheels to lock up. What do you think was causing that? It kind of freaked me out because I thought he was having to brake real hard because of traffic.
Larry repair service and ADL mechanic and professional driver As your request I sent jbg 6 videos last night I hope all your subscribers did the same I heard he was complaining about it have a good night get some rest and take of your finger
Does anyone have any tips on how to get the s cam tube removed when it is completely frozen into the hub? I couldn't get it out for nothing ended up taking off the wheels so I could cut it off.
Even though that brake adjustment was easy for you if you took it to the dealer he probably still charge you five hours at a hundred and a quarter an hour
My father never ever did a halfway brake job. Bossman cant rely on anyone I am sure he is getting g his money back for shoddy work none of my business though. Guess bossman getting you to fix up the fleet he can trust your work. Shame that JBG dont want to help you or Johnnie the chicken dont know how to fix trucks. Good learnings Ty
Pretty soon all adl drivers will be laying out in the cold on frozen ground working on worn out tractors and trailers what kind of home time is that.......
i wonder if it would be possible to convert a pickup to air breaks if one really wanted to. and if he did, would their be a significant difference? just curious. one day I would like to convert a pickup truck into a mini big rig. so no you see whrer I am going with that. keep it authentic.
Anything is possible if you have deep pockets, ingenuity and engineering expertise. In addition to the compressor and dryer, you would need the individual wheel cylinders, S-cams to actuate the brake shoes, air lines, and brackets to mount those items. They would probably have to be custom made and have to be engineered for a vehicle that weighs much less than a tractor trailer. Good Luck!!
@@jakequisenberry973 I used huge pipe wrench to spin it. It wasn't easy though used jack to lean against trailer floor and push on wrench handle. Was able to remove it and replaced with new one.
@Johny Silver thanks man, we used an air hammer. I tried a pipe wrench but had no luck, used a slide hammer, still nothing. Finally used the air hammer and it got it. It was definitely a bastard and a half.
In some older trailers and different brands yes the tubes stay in and you replace the bushings, in this model 4 bolts and you replace the whole tube. So don’t know how it’s a horrible video, done to own procedures
