Ste has had the awful realisation that he could have hit Ella. He sees Leah's phone screensaver, which shows her with Ella wearing the red boots. When James arrives, he tells James to step up for the kids before leaving. He goes to the police station to confess but while waiting to see someone, James calls to tell him that Leah needs him. He rushes back to the hospital, where Leah has barricaded herself in the room, distraught over Ella's death. While speaking to her, he realises how much she needs him and promises her that he's never going anywhere. Later, he hides the red boot in a cupboard at home and calls a mystery person asking them for a big favour...
