23:53 - Squishy meat bodies😂 I watched the commercial - it was very horrific the whole concept felt awful as though Autisim was a disease and something to fight against, whereas its the boxes society force people into that need to change. You can tell there was no own-voice opinions anywhere near that add! 🤢 This book sounds incredible. Thanks so much for brining it to everyone's attention 💜📚

That book is incredible and I'm so glad it challenged me. I couldn't believe that ad but also it tracks with how people view ill and neurodivergent folks. It's just awful.

@toweringtbr I loved that you explained that - we are all guilty of abelist thinking as society has conditioned us. Can't wait to read it, sounds incredible. Currently reading Uncomfortable Lables: My Life as a Gay Autistic Transwoman - absolutely adding to all the feelings I had whilst reading A Kind of Spark - not got very far as I keep messaging my work colleagues about it! 💜📚

Oooo your thoughts on Seveneves!! I'm glad it got better after the Hard Rain and there was more of a character payoff by the end! The idea of the Seven Eves sounds super interesting, I just wish the pacing felt a little more balanced... I didn't know that Tress could be read as a standalone without having read Sanderson before! Are you going to pick up more from him? Have you read Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik? I also read Emily Wilde's and the wintery, fairy tale aspect made me think of that book, although I have read (and enjoyed) The Bear and the Nightingale, too! Also I read somewhere that the characters in that book are basically like the two main ones from Howl's Moving Castle by Miyazaki so I watched that after finishing and have subsequently watched like his entire backlist of films! It's always interesting when one reads books from the same author that have such different ratings! I liked Sea of Tranquility too, but sure seems like you loved it! Going to add Against Technoabelism to my TBR. I feel like I'll learn a lot. Read the first few pages of Disoriental tonight!!

Yeah, I can see why you'd give up. Hopefully the sequel will be a bit more streamlined since its been 9 years since Seveneves was written. As for Sanderson, yeah I intend to pick up more. I was let down by the weak ending but it seems like most people like his endings for his other stuff. I haven't read Spinning Silver but have heard some good things. Have you read Howl's Moving Castle written by Dianna Wynne Jones? That's what the Miyazaki movie is based on. I like both but they differ a fair bit. I like a lot of his movies though Princess Mononoke is my fave! Sea of Tranquility might have just been the exact right time for me to read it. Just really chimed with me. I'm glad I could interest you with Against Technoableism. It was illuminating and very accessible. Excited for Disoriental!

I read 23 books in January (will be my biggest month) Favs -A Restless Truth by Freya Marske 4.75☆ -The Midnight Girls by Alicia Jasinska 4.5☆ -Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See 4.5☆ If you like things like the Y2K part of your book I recommend "Humble Pi" by Matt Parker, it covers y2k and a lot of other engineering and math disasters (or near disasters) in an entertaining way. "Hello World" by Hannah Fry is also similar and fun

Wow! That's impressive. I have A Restless Truth on my TBR...perhaps I should prioritize it? Thank you for your nonfiction recommendations. Humble Pi sounds so good!

Hello, i have finally come back to enjoy a Tiffany Binge 😃 Was just going to watch, but can't help but conment 7 Eves sounds interesting, but too big a commitment especially as yiu only 3 starred and are more Sci-fi then me. Skipped Tress as want to 0 going in (still need to read!). You hVe me excited for Emily books - i loved Heather Fawcett's Even the Darkest Syar YA duology, so feel will really enjoy. Sea of Tranquility you are selling me 😃💜📚

I love it when you comment. Is Tress something you're planning on reading soonish? I hope you like it. I wouldn't recommend Seveneves for you but Sea of Tranquility is "literary sci-fi" that you might really enjoy.
