japan is such a great place - they think of everything and are big on convenience! we found everyone helpful and friendly too, so that was a huge plus. i hope you get a chance to visit soon... we too are itching to go back!

i recommend you check hyperdia - it has all the current schedules and prices. we had a rail pass so we just used that.
