Also remember things like quiet on trains as not disturbing the public space is a big cultural value. I did not have a bad meal in Japan in a month of travel so I would not stress about restaurant recommendations from social media.
this applies mostly to local trains and subs, seems like Shinkansen its fine to converse, though with inside voice. Guess Shinkansen breaks all the normal train rules with also allowing both food and drinks.
Normal suica cards are being made available again within the next month or so as the chip shortage has been resolved. You can still get the welcome suica cards from Narita, and haneda (however they only last 28 days).
Thanks for the Video it was very helpful! :) as someone who has been to Japan in the past I was initially worried about a language barrier, and at the time the translator apps were not as good as they are now but I never had any major issues, I tried to mostly speak Japanese but even with my bad Japanese + English I got by just fine! Also good point never assume that because a meal is inexpensive that its not good or not high quality, some of the best foods I had were not that expensive and when compared sometimes the 700yen Ramen was way better than the 1600yen ramen :/
was shopping last minute at Don Qiote at 2 o'clock at night, was still 40 min waiting at the duty free line oof. At low peak, its more like 5-10 min. From my 2019 trip til last trip in febuary 2024 i'd say english is a lot more accisible in the country, though i do recommend learning some basic japanese none the less. It's always fun to see staff suprised when you know any japanese what so ever. From Narita, both train and buss is really convinient, though i recommend the buss over train hands down, more relaxing and stress free imo. Also better view from the buss, specially when you drive passed disney land (depending on where you're headed to, Shinjuku then you most certainly will drive passed) Also if you have a newer phone e-sim all the way for internet access. If you have iphone you can also add suica before traveling and charge it so its ready to use.
Yeah, it has the same reception as regular sim, so go for the plan that suits you best, i dont find ninja/sakura/mobile that much of a difference, so find something that suits the data you need and how long you need it.
Hello thanks for the good info. I have a question regarding tax-free shopping. Let’s say I go shopping at Donquijote and want to purchase about two bags worth of goods but there are one or two consumables I want to use immediately, is it possible to do two separate transactions and just not receive the tax exemption on those two items so that they may be consumed while still in Japan?
So let me tell you about my japan custom experince they asked if i brought gun cokine weeb gasoline poision no i did not However i do have camoline tea if your curiouse Ok have. A good trip. My suica from last year worked perfectly in kix airport
