I took a trip to the Kyoto Railway Museum, Japan. Shinkansen bullet trains, layouts, roundhouse, JNR steam engines, freight cars, ticket gates, drive simulators, etc. Turn on CC subtitles!

I have been to Kyoto several times and the train museum was by far my favorite place especially the outdoor round house.

It's a good video, I've loved trains since I was about seven years old and I have to say that the museum is gigantic and beautiful, I'm just annoyed that it's in Japan, that I would go there someday, but only when I'm older, but a very beautiful video and thanks ♥♥ ♥

Loved visiting this place last month! I got to actually see one of the steam engines back into the turntable and go inside the roundhouse.

Thank you! I saw the museum at a distance when traveling back to Kyoto Station after visiting Myiajima for the day. We ran out of time but now I kick myself for not visiting after seeing your video. This was last month. Now I have to wait until I go back to Japan! :( There are so many things that are still on my list after my 15 day visit!!!!!!!

Where I live some of the U.S.A locos have the knuckle couplers like some UP (Union Pacific) locomotives have it Sorry I had to edit just realized this is from CraftyFoxe

i visited that museum before i will visit it again someday loved it alot would recommend it as well especially the best thing in my life i saw is C62 itself there are only 5 of them in japan 3 of them are preserved in kyoto in that same museum and the C62 2 that you saw in the video is a former express train in hokkaido and the giftshop that you didnt visited has KATO train models i remember but i didnt bought one the museum is 10/10 recommending it alot for railfans who are visiting japan
