Japan is such an experience, really hope I can go back there one day. Stunning pickups, the Massive Attack tee in particular - crazy to think that was just merch but so nicely done. And that Fruit of the Loom jacket is such a cool find! Wish they would re-release some of their vintage stuff!
Just some guy's (me) question on archive Raf - why do we care what graphics & slogans he prints on clothes so much? What deep message does his prints & words contain, that nobody else's does? What makes his stuff art, and everyone else streetwear? I mean sure it's a bit of commentary. Is it really that deep, that thought-provoking of a commentary? Maybe. Is Banksy really deep & thought provoking? Is Tolstoy? Is Michaelangelo's David?
Because they belong to a collection of his that was significant in the fashion industry back then. Simply put, he was one of the very first designers who elevated streetwear and subculture clothes to the high fashion scene.
🇯🇵 Great video, cool to see the different clothing stores they have over there compared to the UK, I noted a few down for when I hope to go over in the future. :)
man u tooo fly. im watching the video thinking huh i dont see whats so special about the raf button up with the triangle and then u showed off the fit and i was like nah i get it that's an insane piece actually. kinda look like a mech suit on the back fire video 🔥
Sometimes it's not about the actual piece but how you put it together in a fit! I know exactly what you're talking about though. Just gotta see the potential 😤🙇🏻🖤
anyway you could put a list of the places you visited/ recommend for checking out for clothes when visiting Japan? I am going next summer and trying to make sure I hit all the best places there.
Off topic but Im planning to go out to japan next year , any quick suggestions or recommendations on what specific area to visit, and quick need to knows when travelling in different counties?
The one showcasing the collection on 4:12mins was my dear friend Cis which was raf's favorite model and I got a lot of the collection through him. They didn't survive the squatlife I was living tho! RIP Cis Heylen!
im going to japan in march in hopes that i can find some insane pickups for much cheaper than they are on grailed and stuff like that. can you drop a list of wear you found these items please?
Im pretty curious about the fading process that you mention in the video, its usually took me months to fade a tee shirt. Hope you can share how it was done cause damn that hat look cool af.
also i constantly find new raf pieces on vinted that i've never seen before and aren't on the runway, it seems like he just released a lot of variations and random items
Stone head temple is called Otagi Nenbutsu-ji in Kyoto! The monkeys are at "Monkey Park" also in Kyoto. It's a bit of a walk between them but so worth it
