Japanese Ryokans seem to be getting more expensive than before! Sometimes there are hits and misses…. I won’t say Hotel Ooike is the best ryokan ever, but it was a pleasant experience with lots of usable facilities for families with kids. The outdoor onsen and relaxing lounge were the highlights :) what do you think? 00:00 Entrance / Lobby 00:49 Room Tour starts! 01:11 Toilet with Bidet 01:27 Vanity & Bath (in room) 01:50 Bedroom 02:53 Onsen Bath 03:15 Indoor + Outdoor Onsen tour! 04:12 Rooftop Viewing Deck 04:33 Souvenir Shop 05:04 Lounge (my fav part!) 06:44 Laundry Room 07:07 Play Room / Library 07:16 Lounge 2 07:35 Kids Playtime

Hello, it’s a really nice and detailed video! May I know how did you go to the hotel from Kawaguchiko station? It said you would need to call the hotel for pickup, I am worried due to the language barrier 😅

We rented a car (easier with kids) so didn’t go the station. Suggest you can drop a question/message at booking.com or email them directly, especially if you know what time you need them at the station. They tend to respond to mails better than speaking English on phone ☺️ and pickup from station is quite common, they will usually come as a small van at specified time. Wish you a lovely trip!!

I’m considering to stay here but I’ve read tons of bad reviews about this ryokan. I want to find a good ryokan in fujikawaguchiko but most available ryokans have bad reviews as well and only villas and home stays are available. The ryokan price is also very high so I’m thinking to find a plan in hakone but then again I want to see Mount Fuji.

It’s not the best ryokan but it’s not that bad, depending on your standard and expectation too 😆 ryokan prices seem to be increasing fast!!

@@matchamamaYT I know 😭. I want to try more of a traditional ryokan but they don’t have that much choices in fujikawaguchiko. I saw Fuji view hotel and although it’s far away from the station the price for one night is way cheaper. Ty

@@BoywithLoveeee my friend stayed there and enjoyed it too. Kawaguchiko is a great place to visit.

This is not a Ryokan it just hotel with Japanese tatami room style. ☺️ The real of Ryokan or ryokan hotel style is before you enter the lobby you have take off your shoes and during you stay they provide Yukata and japanese "jacket" in your room for you to wear. If you wanna stay in hotel with Ryokan style you may try Jiragonno Fuji Yakata hotel. They have 2 types of room, western and ryokan style (tatami room with futon bed) The dinner buffet is great, they always serve King Crabs. You may also have private Kaiseki dinner (reservation required when you book the hotel)

This hotel is a scammer. Be absolutely careful. I made two reservations, but they said only one would be confirmed and gave me only one room. They said they would refund me if the other reservation was confirmed later, but when I returned home, they treated "no-show" and gave me no refund. Don't be fooled by the Japanese's friendly smile. It's a fake smile meant to catch you off guard and trick you into taking money.

Hi Does tatoo allowed in this hotspring hotel?

Public hot springs in Japan generally don’t allow tattoos. There is a private onsen in this hotel, since it is private and no one will see you, it is ok! For the public ones, better to cover with plaster or the small towel they give if your tattoo is small enough 😉
