In this video my sister and I fly from Bermuda to Tokyo, Japan. This is the first episode in a multi-video series, documenting our two week trip to the land of the rising sun. Our first meal in Japan is at one of the biggest sushi chains in the entire country. Sushiro is the number one conveyor belt (kaiten) sushi chain in Japan with over 500 locations. From there we rest up for the night after our long 13 hour and 40 minute flight. The next day we visit teamLab Planets TOKYO which is an interactive and immersive art museum. It is specially designed to give you a unique experience that impacts almost all of your senses: sight, hearing, smell, and touch - no taste unless you count the ramen restaurant outside the facility. There are gardens filled with flowers suspended in midair, metallic masses dotted around the museum's outdoor garden that allude to something extraterrestrial. Some exhibits have water that is colored with all the colors of the rainbow or murky water that you can’t see through. Some rooms feel like you’re walking on clouds and others are cold and made of reflective glass. This museum is really special and makes you feel immersed in the art. It’s a great place to visit (with friends, family, or by yourself), if you have the time while you’re in Japan.
What’s your favorite art museum? Have you ever been to teamLab? What was your favorite piece of art? Let me know you favorite exhibit from the video?
Next video will be about sumo wrestling! So stay tuned!
