It was raining when I went to Ancora, but they didn't have the rainy day ink available because they had the full-moon ink instead. *sigh* Guess I'll have to go back again :-)

How much Japanese do you have to know in the store? I heard tokyo especially has more english-friendly services

I didn’t have to know any Japanese at all. Just the basic Hello, and thank you. Touristy places like Kyoto and Tokyo see a lot of tourists.

How much do it cost to bild your one pen

There’s no cost to building the pen - you just buy the pen parts which is around $45 I think and they put it together for you. It’s a great experience to see them do it.
