Many comments miss the mark. The challenge would be to solve the problem mentally, without paper, pencil, calculator, or other aid. Some could do it. Try it yourself as a measure of your concentration and memory.

Wouldn't you simply do the exponent

(9*6-1)/(9-1) -1

(9*6-9)/(9-1)
