What's good, another video from 'Imprint Eats' today! I had a delicious Japanese teriyaki meal at the Mall of Georgia. The service was great, and the mall was very clean. Here are the simple instructions and ingredients for a Japanese teriyaki chicken grill with fried rice:
Ingredients for Teriyaki Chicken:
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup mirin (sweet rice wine)
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish
Ingredients for Fried Rice:
- 2 cups cooked and cooled white rice
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1/2 cup diced carrots
- 1/2 cup frozen peas
- 2 eggs, beaten
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, mirin, sugar, garlic, and ginger to make the teriyaki marinade. Place chicken breasts in the marinade, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
2. Heat vegetable oil in a grill pan over medium-high heat. Remove chicken from marinade and grill for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until cooked through. Baste with extra marinade while grilling.
3. Once cooked, let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
4. For the fried rice, heat some sesame oil in a large pan or wok over medium heat. Add diced carrots and cook until slightly softened.
5. Add frozen peas and cooked rice to the pan. Stir well to combine.
6. Push the rice to one side of the pan and pour the beaten eggs onto the other side. Scramble the eggs until cooked, then mix it with the rice.
7. Add soy sauce, salt, and pepper to the rice, stirring well to combine. Cook for a few more minutes.
8. Serve the teriyaki chicken slices on a plate with a side of fried rice. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
