I would love to see a craft store in Japan that would be similar to JoAnns, Michaels or Hobby Lobby here in the States. Or, better yet... an independent yarn store. I'm a crochet person who makes all of my own sweaters and what nots.

I’m the feminine hygiene girl! That’s exactly what I meant! So interesting to see the tampon selection. And the packaging IS cute! Pricing seems way more affordable than here in Canada. This was such an interesting video! My son would die for that Pikachu toothbrush. 😍👌

So interesting!! I would be interested in seeing if they have menstrual cups or discs and what the take on is there. Seems to be getting more mainstream here in the states and a lot more options and brands coming up with more sustainable products. Love this drugstore series!!

Do you have a video on travelling to Japan etiquette? Like things that are considered disrespectful and stuff not to do. Basically like a whole travel guide to Japan. I feel since you came from North America and moved to Japan it would be really beneficial to hear the things you have learned since moving to Japan. I would love to visit as soon as I can and want to make sure I’m as educated on how to respectfully travel there!

Hi Caitlyn, I've been following many RU-vid channels from Japan for many years. This is the best video from a Japanese drugstore I've ever watched. I really loved how you showed us each of the aisles and sections. Thank you very much. I really appreciate it. It was as if we were walking around the store ourselves. 😊😊😊

Visited Japan a few times, and their "tourist souvenir" shops are like drugstores, too! I always find myself stocking up on facial sheet mask, gel warming pads, collagen drinks, etc - because they're pricey in Singapore! I miss visiting these shops. Thanks for sharing this vid.

My experience with Japanese stores is that they have a crazy number of staff for everything so obviously that helps. But I think salaries are much, much lower there. I don’t think it would be possible without low salaries. Also, while I found food very cheap (minus fruit), I found drug store products really expensive in Japan. So I guess you get what you pay for.

I’m not sure if anyone has said something about the garlic yet, but black garlic is considered a superfood! It has a lot of antioxidants and boosts the immune system while also reducing inflammation, it’s also said to help prevent cognitive diseases like Alzheimer’s and dementia, hence why it’s marketed towards senior citizens (usually there’s a picture or a drawing of older people on the packages haha). I would suggest doing a Google search on the benefits because there’s many articles that would be able to explain it more than me :)

I of course would love for the products to be in glass containers but even though they are still both plastic I understand the refill stuff because it’s a lot LESS plastic cause it’s all thin. No need for strong thick walls of the bottles, and no (big) caps. So they’re getting there! Slowly but surely lol

Looove going to the pharmacy in Japan! We had a separate shopping time for groceries and pharmacy, they have super cool items especially the seasonal ones 💕 also, I had to research about some of the items if they have good reviews or not before buying them. It was definitely an experience! The garlic ones I think are supplements/vitamins? I'm not really sure. But my former boss told me that garlic is really good for the health and that was while he was eating a bunch of grilled garlic (we were having a company dinner at that time).

1) Do you consider Japan as a highly developed and advanced country ? 2) How would you personally rate Japan (from culture to technology, architecture, food, local products, scenery/landscape, standard of living/quality of life, etc.) on a scale level of 1 to 10 ? 3) What is your overall impression with the Japanese people ? 4) If you have 3 words or more to describe Japan, what would it be ?

I love Japanese drug stores, beauty supply stores and supermarkets in general. They never get old! My poor, patient husband is such a sport going round and round and round and round them with me...I love these sorts of videos, thank you so much for showing me what's on the shelves, what to mark down in my travel notebook and most importantly THE PRICES. Thank you! Edit: I've never seen any videos or comments where Western women discuss their experiences and opinions on Japanese tampons so I'll be candid and simply say: not good. They're horrible. Note to self: never again forget packing tampons when travelling to Japan.

Hi! What is the issue with toothpaste there that you need to buy it online? How is sustainability in Japan? You've said before that everything is wrapped in plastic, is it very hard to try to be sustainable? (the plastic refill pouches are better because they take up less space in a truck when transporting them to it means less emissions, as they can fit more, and even though it's plastic I think it's less plastic than the bottles. But yes, it seems silly, they could make them in glass or metal)

Oh and about the plastic bottles/refills, sometimes glass is less sustainable!! Because glass is very heavy compared to plastic it can cost more gas and stuff to ship it, and you have to use it for a veeery long time to make it more sustainable, but possibly a lot of people would use it as long as supposed to to reach that effect! So I think it is still great to refill the plastic bottles. Same for canvas totebags, reusing a plastic bag can be better than having multiple canvas totebags because they should be used maaaany many times before it is the same!
