My 96 4WD Hijet has the TwinCam engine and that's good for another 2 HP. :-) It's a 5 speed. I haven't tried to see how fast it'll go. It a 27 year old engine, and like me, it's old and tired. It'll do 110 KPH but it doesn't really like it. I usually drive it 100 KPH. I drive it around town and on the secondary roads that were used before interstate highways.
Has your current tire combo much more circumference than stock, making the speedo underreport? Otherwise it seems a bit slow unless its got pre ww2-car level aerodynamics.. which I guess is possible if Subaru cared literally zero about it during the design process. Anyway, keep on keepin` on!
Yeah the speedo is definitely not actually accurate with these tires. Definitely was planning on the GoPro gps speed, but that didn’t end up working, but oh well. I’ll definitely do another run with a GPS soon. Thanks for watching!
I wasn’t able to ever get a good reading since I never ran it on the highway for very long and there’s no live fuel mileage indicator. But if I had to guess, my truck was just above 20mpg maxed out
