Japanese Koi Fry Harvest, How To Select And Grade Koi Fry

Female was a chagoi and the males were a yamabuki ogon and platinum ogon and a hariwaki

Never had fry before so learning as I go !

Going to try and count up and see what I have …. Already at 4 weeks have some dark fry / yellow fry / yellow and black/ and white fry so lots to look at would love to send you some images when I start selections over the weekend

There’s no filtration on it it’s run naturally

It’s a storage building for salt and other materials owned by the local council so when it’s going to snowy or going to to icy they can salt the roads

Hi eventuality when they are large enough I will be selling some of them just so I can create enough space to grow the others. Thank you

On average only 10 percent will survive till adulthood. The majority of these will die in the first few weeks so once they are other a 3 weeks to a month old the majority will survive.

@@UkKoiFish Blimey that aint much!! 10 out of 100 survive. I started with 22 fry and 15 have survived so far. They're 3weeks old.

@@paulkazjack yh usually though it’s only that low when you have a larger group as the 10 percent that do survive are the ones that eat more and outcompete the others. So when you have a smaller group there is less competition and more survive. It has to be that way though as it prevents them overpopulating an area 10 percent of 10,000 fry still results in 1000 adult fish
