U can do it limit! Also prodigy thank u for sharing Yachi Nanase's amazing video with us. Love ur content, limit's content and from what I've seen of Yachi Nanase's their an amazing kh player as well. Keep up the great work guys and stay safe and healthy. Also happy holidays.
This is the peak potential of KH2 combat. No repetitive invulnerable frames, no smashing the most available limit asap, no spamming the same attack and then running. Maxing the capabilities of Sora’s movement commands to fight in an actual aesthetic and visually pleasing way. This is amazing
He was using Sonic Blade with Cloud because it's his move. Him using Mickey made it King vs King. There are often little nods and easter eggs in his vids, he has fun with it. I liked one where he showed that KH2 already had hidden Mickeys in all of its menus since i never even noticed that by myself
The reflect hit on Demyx due to him reverting mid-reflect. It causes the splash to be moved to the origin point of the room which is where he happened to stand
Looking at this just reminds me of how good KH2 combat will forever be and that ill probably never reach this level. Now i gotta see someone do this for every game especially recoded.
Yen Sid doesn't name Sora Master because he knows the Forces of Light have a bad track record with Keyblade Masters. The moment Sora becomes a Keyblade Master his performance will tank.
Well, as I recall, Sora still needed the Power of Waking at that point. He was almost consumed by the Darkness in the Sleeping Worlds, until Riku saved him. And because of that, he lost a lot of his power - like the Drive Forms.
@@migueltoledo1884 Because he made a shit test that was easily exploited instantly. There was nothing Sora could have done to stop Xehanort. Yensid should have his mastery revoked, not Sora.
Btw he's actually level 25 against lingering will for the extra drive boost, but against lingering will 25 basically is level 1 damage so he was killing it anyway
7:07 The Reflect hit because of a glitch (I think it might've actually been found by Yachi Nanase) where if you revert from a form before your Reflect goes off, the damage instead of surrounding Sora goes to the 0,0,0 location in the battlefield, which is what happened there. Yachi probably set it up intentionally for Demyx to move into that position before Reflecting, reverting from Wisdom, then having it go off where Demyx happened to be. Very cool :)
It's so weird watching this after being used to speedrunners. You expect "Okay here's this part, so he'll do this" but he doesn't, instead it's something objectively less optimal, but also objectively way cooler. Dude is swag strats incarnate
Seeing someone master my favorite childhood game is beyond awesome, it just goes to show that KH2s combat is one of the best out there with so many moving parts, and it's why KH2 is still my favorite game of all time, even after all this time.
Surprised you didn’t catch that for three of the FF fights, he was either using moves he learned from beating them (Cloud & Yuffie) or replicating their powers (Ars Arcanum encases and extends Sora’s keyblade like Leon’s).
@@SirPinguuy The man literally one-shot a heartless in a cutsence then sliced a building. It takes nearly 10 hits to defeat that same heartless in game at that moment, and you never are THAT powerful to slice a building. If you where, heartless wouldn't be a problem to deal with.
@@SirPinguuy Canon Sora at the end of KH1 is powerful enough to defeat Ansem who's so fast he breaks the physics formula for speed by moving in a realm where time doesn't exist and is powerful enough to destroy the entire Realm of Light which includes an uncountably large number of universes and dimensions, just to mention a couple feats. Sora gets massively more powerful in every game as well. Canon Sora is massively strong, more than people like Kratos, Goku, etc. and is one of the most powerful characters in fiction.
@@raikaru0 Freelancer, Spore, Neverwinter Nights, Age of Empires 2, etc. Well... Spore not as much, but it's still got A following, even if it's the latest of the bunch.
KH2FM is epitome of endgame content presented perfectly at that era. I remembered playing those stages hundred (or maybe a thousands time) perfecting parry, dodge, reflect, attack pattern, rage counter bar. It's raising my standard of sword-style playing.
KH2 combat is a joy. At some point you just get comfortable enough with it that you just try to do stylish precise techniques, and it doesn't necessarily feel like a feat, just fun. I remember getting to a point where I'd fought LW so much that I no longer went into fights with a strategy or memorized procedures. I just put on all the random auto passives and let the game decide how Sora would kick ass.
Streets been known about Maka and Yachi Nanase but cool to see you’re bringing a spotlight to them on your channel. Would love Yachi to come back to playing KH on their channel again.
9:27 I think he’s mimicking the fighting style of each ff character… tifa is the toughest since she’s fists only but eh Yuffie - ranged Squall - ars arcanum (glowing sword) Tifa - eh Cloud - sonic blade
Ive been waiting for SO LONG for Yachi to get his proper recognition by the fanbase, he absolutely puts everyone else to shame with his KH2 content Mad you all didn't use some data fights in this clip, he does crazy stuff in almost all of them. He almost completely kills Xaldin without touching the ground, gets a downright nasty Anti-Form finish on Vexen, RAWDOGS THE ABSOLUTE FUCK OUT OF LARXENE, has a really cool no damage roxas fight, and the way he takes Marluxia out will always be the hypest thing to me.
Did you know that in the old non-Final Mix version of the game there was a bug in Final Xemnas' battle script? When it got to the move telegraphed by Xemnas asking 'can you spare a heart', if you used Reflect to make it fail, the battle script would get caught in a loop of continuously calling the move until it landed. I didn't know it was a bug until I found out it doesn't do that in Final Mix. Even in the story boss, if you use reflect to make that move fail, he just moves on to phase 2. I was honestly surprised to find out that wasn't just a change made to the refight. I assumed for a time that it was specific to the refight as an anti-frustration feature because of how the drain of Sora's HP quickly becomes a runaway train wreck.
In wisdom form if your reflect connects and you revert the offensive half of the spell will be delivered wherever Donald is. (He will re appear around where you transform) So the Demyx fight was a 4D chess play in a Kingdom Hearts game.
7:37 it's due to how demyx long range attack works. It falls into the melee long range category (not magic, which can trip people up), so attacks reflect directly on the caster if you revert mid reflect, because reverting mid combo stacks the base form sora with the form gauge sora, whether valor, wisdom, master, final, limit, etc.. You can do this on a number of enemies and bosses, and it even works on limit attacks such as beast and alladdins. You saw a variation on this earlier with beast's throw when Yachi nullified the boss counter.
So y'all were asking about Dome Skip but that's only available in the Garden of Assemblage mod because of Final Xemnas not having an HP Gate there preventing you from skipping it.
The thing that's incredible about the Lingering Will fight is how much RNG there is. His set of moves could just be completely different, so there had to have been a ton of on the fly adjustments to get everything how they wanted.
Sora is epic. Also, this guys gameplay made this beloved game feel more emotion and hit home lol. Like his movement were kinda what I feel Sora would do and end his battles off with style and shit.
I think the other purpose of the RG clip was that Sora was imitating his companions, shuriken for Yuffie, the glowing blade for Squall, the bruisin for Tifa, and the Rave for Cloud.
It’s sad because the series will never reach this level of perfection again. The simplicity and slowness of the combat is what makes this game so great. It can be as simple, or as complex, as you’d like without a bunch of flash just for the sake of flash. KH2FM was the pinnacle of the series and after playing through KH3 on critical mode, it reminds me it will never be as good as it once was ):
So fun fact at 7:20 , reflect's projectiles will spawn in the center of the map if you exit your current form. So Yachi planned it out and had reflect hit Demyx in the middle after the move because demyx almost always ends in the middle of the stage after that move. Absolutely insane
This is the reason KH2 is still my favorite KH game. The combat is lit. I don’t mind KH3, but playing it at the game at Launch with how slow and sluggish Sora was, was painful. Even with the update you need to equip abilities to fix his attack speed. While I love the Flowmotion Dash move to close the gap, I wish it had that fluid and speed of KH2 combat.
@@jeffali5157 No, he didn't move as fast or fluid in KH3 compared. Only with the new abilities added in via update did Sora come close to how agile he was in KH2. And the delay between attack doesn't help. I've played both game. Sora comes off "sluggish" in KH3 because of it.
@@viruschris3160 he still wasn’t slow, but compared to 2 I can kind of see that. And they definitely shortened the delay in the kh3 updates so it doesn’t feel sluggish. I played both and while Kh2FM is the best, kh3’s gameplay was still very fun
@@jeffali5157 There a few things in KH3 combat I like, like Air Step, using items in the air, and blocking in the air. Keyblade Transformations... 50/50 on that. I just liked the Drive Forms more.
Jesus christ i never though that kingdom heart 2 combat is this good... I mean, it doesn't help that i just smashing button back when i played it but still...
I would like to see a part 2 of this where you react to his data Org XIII fights. The finishers he did to Larxene and Marluxia are straight fire. And that Roxas fight? Good God, that gave me goosebumps.
something I never truly appreciated enough about this game is how they made so many sora animations for each magic for each form and it's freaking not lazy stuff, sora downright breakdancing to some of these spells
There are certain gamers who become so intuned with the characters they play as, it turns into a Soul Eater Resonance moment (if you haven't watched the anime/read the manga, check it out for a fun read about people who turn into weapons!) and they become one in the same in that moment. This is one of those such men
