I like the Osaka dialect because of how brash and direct it seems compared to how people seem to speak in Tokyo. It's definitely a dialect with a lot of character.

Yeah, in Osaka they tell it like it is and their Japanese is a lot more emotionally expressive, not cold and formal like Kanto, and is probably easier for foreigners to learn. Interestingly, when a Kansai or Osaka person goes to Kanto they often adopt the Kanto dialect, but Kanto people will not do the same if they go to Kansai BUT there's a lot of Japanese comedians and TV personalities who are from other parts of Japan but they adopt the Osaka dialect because it fits the persona better. It's possible Joji makes his Kansai dialect a lot stronger for the comedic effect.

I've seen my sister get defiled right in front of my eyes, I introduced her to a couple of filthyfrank videos and she slowly began to like him. After I made her listen to joji there was no going back, his songs were on repeat for a couple of weeks and she won't shut up about joji. She became an even bigger fan than I am for god sake, she makes me watch filthyfrank and joji videos every now and then and even invited me to his concert (though it was cancelled because of the virus).

He started doing Filthy Frank in college hoping to boost his musical career, as “a parody of everything horrible on the internet”. I tend to think of the character as a 4chan version of Hen na Ojisan. I’d be interested in seeing you react to some old variety shows. I feel like I would learn something about Joji’s sense of humor. The character became so popular he got stuck in it, and he ultimately had to quit for health reasons. It seems to have made it harder to get his music career started. When he dropped his first album, he tried to keep it a secret from the Filthy Frank fans. He just dropped his second album! You should definitely do a reaction video to some of his music. He does have a really nice voice. Thank you for all the videos!

As much as I like your Japanese accent when you speak English ( sorry, but I just think it's cute ) it's nice to hear you speak Japanese. I'm slowly learning Japanese bit by bit, so hearing native speakers and learning to notice the words I already know is good practice. Plus I learned about bit about the Osaka-ben for the first time today. And, as always, your reactions to Filthy Frank's videos are always entertaining. I'm not generally a fan of reaction videos, but I genuinely enjoy yours.

4th time seeing filthry frank. And I gotta say that his comedy seems to be a derivative of "Gaki no Tsukai", just far more crude. xD And seeing an angelic being such as Asagi reacting to it, as a normal person, really juxtapose it, to make the whole thing even funnier. xD

What exactly is kansai dialect? Is that like the Japanese equivalent of talking in a country/southern accent or something? Or is it some old-timey thing like how people used to talk but don't anymore? I never understood that. Also, the parts where he's talking like a yakuza is because he's playing a character called "Fake Frank", who's supposed to be a lot meaner than the "real Frank". He's acting, these are all his characters (his real name isn't even "Frank"), and his show has actual lore when you look past all the silly stuff. Surprisingly deep and interesting lore, too.

his comedy is fast and random like American comedy, but more so like comedy from Canada. Canada has many great comedians. English Slang has conquered the elegance of the english language so american comedy is often spoken as insulting metaphors and euphenisms.

I think it's cool how she can identify the accent and stuff. To a non-japanese speaker, it all sounds so similar so it's cool to see people able to hear different dialects.

チューハイのイントネーションが東京の人と違うなんてへ～。。。勉強になりました。日本人が聞くと当たり前のように区別がつくとは思いますが、俺みたいな外国人は誰かがその違いを指摘しないとずっと気づかなかないような気がしますね。ニューヨークに住んでいるけど、周りの友達は関西人が多くて、どっちかと言うとその高い音から下がるイントネーションが自然に聞こえますね。

I like this channel even more now, how many youtubers that speak different languages actually take the time to make their own subtitles for other to understand them. I have so much respect for that.
