When using stainless fasteners you should use stainless tools to fit them...that way you don't contaminate your fasteners and cause them to rust.

I think the Anex 395D ratcheting screwdriver has a removable double ended bit, and can take other 1/4 in bits. I have the 306D which is the (very) stubby version of this, it's basically the ''top'' 2 inches of the one you have, with a small double ended (-6mm/PH2) bit, but it takes any standard 1/4 in bits, including longer ones if I don't want to use it as a stubby. No inboard bit storage which I guess is how they manage to keep it so short. Many other ratcheting bit drivers are 4 inches or longer as they have the bit storage in the handle end, so the mechanism is further down. For example the PB Swiss, Klein Tools, Milwaukee stubby ratcheting bit drivers.

I mostly liked the tips on the pen drivers. I'm going to get body only from Japan and then the whole kit from US. Those little smaller screwdriver types just don't have enough horsepower for me on most things. Need just a bit more for my go to lightweight bag quick bags.

If anyone is looking for a good electric screw driver should check out the Metabo DB3DL2. It's 3.6 volts, but for $70 with 2 batteries and a charger it's an absolute steal. I'm a copier repair technician and I use it daily and I've never been left wanting for more power. I usually keep my clutch set on 5, and I'm working on machine screws and plastic screws which have a real chance of stripping out. A tip for not need to constantly change your clutch setting is to break the screw loose manually. If you're not holding down the trigger the bit will only turn a little bit, so you can turn your wrists 90 degrees without pressing the trigger until the screw is broken loose and then screw it the rest of the way out using the trigger. Another technician I work with has the Milwaukee and it's features are the same except it costs more and he's had to warranty it multiple time, so I wouldn't recommend it. The Milwaukee, Makita, and Metabo have a bunch of little details that are exactly the same which makes me think they maybe made in the same factory, but I don't really know. These clutched screw guns are also amazing for assembling furniture too btw.

Great video, thanks for showing the Anex ratcheting scredrivers. I have the JDM little 10.8v impact driver in white which is an old design that they continue to sell. Its even got brushes in electric motor. But these 7.2v tools have my interest for sure! My JTS (japanese tool disorder) is in remission now untill next video. Thanks Bzeug!!

I wish a company would come along and make an electric screwdriver in the normal cylinder handle form thats just slightly longer so you can stuff a battery in it. It wouldn't be oversized like the makitadriver, and it would be normal and practical in smaller uses like a regular driver without being as weak as normal electric pen drivers. Still looking for that perfect mix to replace the ltt screwdriver for computer work...

That red Anex ratcheting bit driver may be just what I've been looking for. I have been looking quite a long time for a ratcheting bid driver without any plastic parts ( except for the handle) and this may be the only one. Furthermore I've been searching for year for this very rare Serv-A-Lite ratcheting bit driver which like this has what is essentially a round head ratchet mechanism in the end of the handle. I'm not sure if I'd really be happy with this large bulky handle, but I think I may have to check one of these out.

Would you please do a video on vessel bits!! My biggest complaint with vessel is where to acquire individual JIS vessel bits. Specifically talking about where you can buy these!!! Tired of buying sets that include 90% of bits I don't use!!! Also when is wiha going to make a ratcheting central fix screwdriver?

i really dont understand the hype around TTI products, ive now owned 2 milwaukee ratchets one 1st gen and 1 speed, and i also have the stubby 3/8, the ratchets work fine but have awful ergonomics and the paddle switch is meh, the stubby was awsome at first but has lost power over time, not to mention that the m12 batteries have little plastic hooks that break so now i have to duck tape the batteries to the tool, so yeh probobali gonna go for makita or bosch in the future, i need cordless ratchets so might just buy snapon

Is there any advantage in getting either the Makita pen impact or non-impact pen driver with the JDM chuck over the other? Does access to japanese anvil bits better suit intended function of one more than the other? I'm new to power tools.
@bzeug
@bzeug 8 месяцев назад
I'll speak for myself. I want all that the Japanese bit market has to offer, therefore I wanted Japanese power tools with Japanese chucks. The Japanese bit market is amazing. The bits are mostly cross type or "Plus", but there is some Torx, hex, and square. The Awesome variety however is found in the Japanese cross type bits. VESSEL, ANEX, SUNFLAG and others offer some really interesting features and aesthetics. Here are some of my videos with more info about that topic. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KlRqXCy_DDU.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tLAQBhiItjI.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8ulvekdhk5E.html

@@bzeug After binging all of your tool haul videos from the last 4 years, I came to a similar conclusion, which is why I'm so intrigued by these pen drivers. I was moreso asking about the drivers themselves as a vehicle for using the Japanese bit. If one were to follow your advice in this video and order one driver from Japan and the other as part of the full US kit, is there any benefit to getting the Japanese chuck on the _impact_ *or* _regular driver_ specifically? Like if the goal is to be able to work with the cool Japanese bits more often, do you find one driver to have a wider range of uses and applications over the other thereby facilitating that objective?
@bzeug
@bzeug 8 месяцев назад
@@LupusAdNoctem Ah. The Pen Driver (non-impact) is perfectly suited for computers, electronics, RC Hobbies and things like that, and the Japanese bits are so perfect for those applications too because it seems that the fasters in all those things are Asian anyway. The impact however, gets more into the cabinetry hardware and electrical type applications where terminal bits, pre-drilling and more European posidrive fasters (IKEA) are likely to be encountered.

@fuloplehel

@@htr5372 This is exactly what is collectors doing. You can collect cars, watches, tools and never use them, just display them in a case. It's just a hobby.

@fuloplehel
@fuloplehel 10 месяцев назад
@@htr5372Ok this is not exactly my case, I use 90% of my tools. But in various tool sets I have some items that I never used. I like good quality tools but I'm far away from this level of a collection. Some tools are used less than the others, for example my knipex cobra XXL, which is used maybe once in a month. My hobby is just having good brands. My budget is limited,but I always buy the best I can afford. That's it.
@fuloplehel
@fuloplehel 10 месяцев назад
@@htr5372 I agree, the majority of videos are just from tool collectors, but they offer some information and sometimes when I'm interested I just watch some videos and tests. For example when knipex released the twingrip pliers I was curious to see how it's working, and after that I purchased the tool. And is a great plier used almost every day. I do a lot of maintenance work and I need a variety of tools. And when you have the right tool for the job, you are more efficient and you save time, and time is money. Another example is a thermal camera, it is expensive but I can find a faulty component in the electric panel very fast,without testing each component with a multimeter. It's making a huge difference and I can do more money. If you are a collector you must have all versions, and limited anniversary editions. I don't do that.
@htr5372
@htr5372 9 месяцев назад
@@fuloplehel The problem with tool collectors is that there is no long term impressions or reviews, it's always short term impressions. If I'm looking for a tool I'd want to know how durable it is in the long term among other factors.
