First of all, love the videos, as a Brazilian learning Japanese they are very insightful, secondly, Here in the Amazon region, some tribes believed that the creator god, responsible for the winds, is actually the father of the Sun, that reminds me a lot of Dragon and Luffy, also we have a fighting style called "capoeira" that created by the slaves brought be the Europeans and was disguised as dance that is normally made by the sounds of drums, also the attire that "capoeira" fighters use reminds a lot of gear five Luffy's attire, all those similarities are an amazing video idea, keep up the good work :)
I wonder if the Sun God concept originates from, or has something to do with, Nahua cultures because Nahua motifs are very prominent in Shandora and the glyphs seen by Enel on the moon. What I'm getting at is, with a strong emphasis on Nahua cultures in OP, it's possible there's multiple Sun Gods because we believe in different Teteotl representing each new sun for each new age.
I honestly can't see any giant becoming a stawhat anytime soon. Unless Franky decides to create a whole nother ship with the help of the giants, right now Loki simply can't fit inside the Sunny lmao
I think the idea that trees are important to this story, and Nika specifically, has a lot of merit. In Oda-sensei's original manuscript draft, when the protagonist was still called "Monkey D. Pao", we see that his mentor is depicted as an old man named "Merry", who is described as the spirit of a 5008-year-old "rubber tree". A rubber tree taking a human form, perhaps? Pao also seems to carry an axe, which makes him look like a woodcutter! So this "rubber tree" being tied to Pao (original Luffy) and Merry, who became the ship in the eventual One Piece story that we got... I think this supports the ideas in this video!
Or could be the Hito Hito no mi model Elbaph, the god of war and the first giant. He could be an amalgamation of Surtr, Ymir and Odin. He could also be the creator of other races like lunarians, giants and others. This is my guess for this fruits powers: Ultimate shapeshifting: Like Loki and the grand majority of the Aesir god are capable of shapeshifting into different animals and people. The best of them where Loki and Odin themselves. So, the user could have a shapeshifting ability better than any devil fruit in the world. Turning into any person (no matter how big or small or whether male or female), animal (even mythical monsters like Fenrir) or just changing into other races. Even copying that beast or race's biological attributes/abilities. Size manipulation: It's a giant fruit so he could become bigger, but this fruit would allow him to go a few km big just to use this sword. Making him the biggest giant of them all in his true height. Asexual reproduction/beast creation: Like Ymir, he could create giants out of his flesh (the myth is much too gross to put in the story) even creating clones of himself or mythical beast to fight for him like Fenrir or Jormungandr. Even possibly making plants, minerals, or weather like what they used with Ymir's body to create the world and the world tree. Immense stat amp: self explanitory. Intuitive knowledge/learning: Like Odin (who gave his eye to drink from Mimir's lake for knowledge and hung himself on Yggdrasil for 9 days to truly understand the runes), the fruit would grant him an Intuitive understanding of what Elbaph studied. This could include the ponaglyphs, Rune/runic magic, science, combat or other things. Basically, Sylar's power from Heroes. Runic Magic/Power replication: This would be what makes this power truly unique and why they had to bandage up Loki's eyes. The power would work like this: when the user observes a devil fruit user or fighter using their abilities in battle to fully analyze their ability to comprehend how their power works. The fruit then teaches the user the basic uses of the ability so they don't hurt themselves when using it. When that is done, the fruit gives the user a rune or combination of runes that lets them use this ability they observe, whether it be a logia or paramecia fruit. Basically, making any df power the user encounters he could copy it and tern this power into a rune spell that he can use to trick people or fight people as equals. This would be Loki's bag of tricks and would be the reason for why his eyes are bandaged (also they might as well pored burning snake venom in his eyes like in the myth or just have a snake over his head constantly poring drops of venom in his eyes to be myth accurate). Its powered by observing the power with direct eye contact or extremely powerful observation haki. It wouldn't be permanent access and if it is permanent, the runes would need specific uses like actual spells. Regenerative powers: All Aesir can regenerate to a degree. Weapon creation: he is a war god, so he could just make weapons out of his body. Berserker State: Odin was the god of berserkers as well, so this fruit could give a berserker state that give an 10x stat boost in exchange for not being able to use the mystic powers of the fruit and the loss his mind while being in the state. Fire and Ice manipulation: would make sense considering that Surtr was the first fire giant, and Ymir was the first ice giant. Also, I just want to see that country sized sword on fire.
This is perhaps my favorite theory of all time in my one piece career😂. Truly a good job🔥 I also respect your openness about your learning proces! Keep it going💪❤️
Nika was real. i don’t know if he was a shandian that was somehow gifted great powers, or was some sort of supernatural entity in the one oiece world, but nika was a seperate being from joy boy and existed as a person. not just a myth
Maybe, but there's nothing in the OP world so far that suggests that real people's essences can be stored and recycled as DF's. That'd be an interesting story reveal though
Wonderful video! 😀 Thank you. This video has so many surprising connections and obvious truths to it. Most people don't notice, but YOU did, @Dawn & Dusk Congratulations! Most Japanese speakers don't understand One Piece as well as Dawn & Dusk.
Just like how other new world arcs are inversions of paradise arcs, THIS arc will be skypeia inverted. Instead of fighting a “god”, they’ll have to save one or defend luffy as a god or something. Maybe ennel will show up, i mean we got lucci in egghead which was inverted ennies lobby
Some part of the storyline Oda can just plaster in as and when the time and narrative fits due to the vast world of One Piece, but Hajruddin going for mera mera no mi is definitely a masterclass
If the top of yggdrasil is as high as it seems, it could be considered a sky island. There could be island clouds and a civilization of winged people up there
If I'm not mistaken. Red hair is to be taken as super special in this world. What if Calgara, (now hear me out) is actually shanks ancestor, but also luffy's ancestor. But the will of D has to be from Mont Blanc Nolan D Liar. So monkey D Luffy is a descendant of both men. Both in physicality, and force of will.
yooo there is no way you made a theory about the same guess I made, I guess I'm flattered to come to the same conclusion as you, I also think his Fruit is the model lunarian, maybe joyboy was Lunarian and the giants thought the nika habilities were related to the lunarian race before the awakening
That would also explains why it took the entirety of elbaf to take him on. The man is a giant AND a lunarian, that's straight up might be tankier than kaido.
I remember reading the manga a few times and thinking - "I've seen this before, how is it possible...?" - only to later realize that it was some accurate theory that I saw here on the channel
I wish I was rich to contribute as much as I could to this channel, this is the best One Piece channel I have EVER come accross!! Don’t stop uploading content, its so valuable brother! May Sun God Nikka bless you haha.
to me, it´s getting clearer that Nika´s/JoyBoy´s identity is a puzzle composed somehow by the Mink Tribe, the Lunarians and the Giants...the Mink´s Sulong form looks EXACTLY like Luffy in Gear 5/Nika form (white hair with reddish eyes), then the Lunarians have white hair and the eternal flames, while Luffy gets white flame-looking hair when transformed...and of course we have the Giants that worship the Sun God and the GIANT STRAW HAT at Mariejois the Lunarians probably have connections with the Sky Islands people, due to the wings, and it´s interesting to think about how Lunarians´s wings are big and wide enough to allow them to fly, while Sky Islands people´s wings are too small to flight...perharps the Sky Islands people are distant descendants from the Lunarians, whose wings grew smaller and smalls through the centuries about the Giant-Lunarian people´s connection, if the top of Elbaph´s tree is in fact the Realm Of Gods just like in Yggdrasil´s from Norse mythology, then is possible that long ago the Lunarians and the Giants shared Elbaph, with the Lunarians residing on the top of the tree just like gods, and the Giants residing at a lower location, just like how Yggdrasil connects to the Realm of Giants in Norse mythology... perharps Nika or JoyBoy (or both, if they were the same person, isn´t clear still) was a half-Lunarian half-Giant, and Luffy´s appearance is just because his fruit is a Zoan, just like the Mink are animals, so the awakening form of a Zoan have the same aspects of a Sulong form (which is basically the awakend form of the Mink)...anyway, there´s definitely something connecting Nika/JoyBoy to the Lunarians, the Giants and the Mink Tribe
Imagine if its a fire wolf fruit, and he bites luffy's hand when he tries to free him and then when freed he eats luffy. A nod to both tyr and the wolf eating the sun
@adamroot2973 yes. I'm anime only. Also the latest episode's don't reflect the manga. I had to rewatch 1089-1122 and no gorosei battle. So I'm confused. I'm about to buy the manga. Idk if I handle 6 fukin months. JFC My country will be turned into alabasta by that point in 2025😭
I think Loki might have the logia the Hoshi-Hoshi no mi or star devil and him wanting to bring about the end of the world could be a reference to the Biblical star Wormwood which is said that if the star falls from the sky to earth it starts Doomsday
I always thought that they were called Lunarians because they came from the moon, but it would make sense that they were "mirrors of the sun" that shine it's light upon Earth during times of darkness (night)
Would be cool if Loki actually ate the gomu gomu no mi. The giants might have mistook it for the nika fruit. It would be like Oars vs Luffy all over again. And it will be an opportunity for luffy to find out the truth about his devil fruit.
I wonder if Judge put pyrobloin into Sanji's body as well, and Sanji's burning passion provides the heat to activate it. This was a really great video except the Pappagu slander!
Since Oda often gives us hints along the way, what if he is some sort of wolf ( because of the wolves seen guarding under the bridge), who will eventually go from evil to good? His blinders are to keep him from seeing the moon or the sun, that is needed to transforms him from human to beast? Being in darkness can have deeper meanings🤔
Sorry for the length. Just thorough with my thoughts is all. Part of me wonders if maybe there were other Adam and Eve trees before that kept the environment and climate of the planet in check. They were the original climate control that kept areas habitable. In the war, they may have targeted those trees as a means to destroy the sustainability of an opposing force's land, cut off supplies, etc. The trees would absorb and process a lot of water and kept the water low. They spread light, oxygen, and heat from it's roots below to kept the ecosystem healthy and absorb the nutrients produced by life. The water cycle went crazy when they were destroyed. The final two trees, the oldest, were spared as part of a treaty to prevent the total collapse. The best guestimates of scientists and ancient kingdom scholars was that it could take thousands of years for new seeds to fully develop and be ready to plant. Joyboy infused the hat at Mary Geoise with insane levels of Haki, just like the knot, and covered the seed pod of the Eve tree with it to protect it and empower it to speed up the process. Looking into the future and seeing about 800 years being around the final mark. He knew he wouldn't be around to see the end, but was inspired by Luffy and his character.
You know the theory that luffy travels back in time 800 years, after finding the one piece, to become the actual joyboy of legens. If this comes true then technically there should be 2 nika fruits. The original one that luffy ate and the one passed down from joyboy to the giants that loki ate
i dont think the giants would refer to a generic species devil fruit as being legendary. Dont you think it might be something like the hito hito no mi model god of war Elbaph. Elbaph could be a lunarian, i just think thier royal treasure, a legendary devil fruit will be something more grand than just a species of people
In the bible after Cain killed Abel he was exiled to the Land of Nod, east of the holy Eden. And the Adam and Eve had a third son called Seth and he's the ancestor of Noah, therefore ancestor of every human (everyone else died in the flood)
21:03 Wait! keratin is a substance only produced by animals, what thing (or things) is (or was) shedding skin cells with the "sea soul"? and in such quantities to make ALL those clouds and stones??
when brogy or dory said "... anything but the red serpent" maybe they meant loki and loki doesnt have a hito hito no mi but rather the jormungandr fruit. meh honestly loki having lunerian fruit makes way more sense. maybe the heat for shaping pyrobloin has to be infinitely hot meaning normal fire is too little, lunarians have "hotter" fire but maybe still not enough, but the mother flame and the sun would be the right temperature which would also explain why the gorosei and imu want the mother flame so bad and that also adds another important role to the nika fruit. for the cain and abel conclusion: cain was an extremely bad guy who would literally be the opposite personality of luffy so i dont agree with that conclusion
Why is Loki the only one with a name from the Norse pantheon? Couldn't the fruit be the Loki fruit? Like, his father and brother are not Odin and Thor. I'm actually not convinced Loki is the dude's given name.
