Japanese wife challenges Hakka LeiCha for the first time/日本老婆第一次挑戰吃客家擂茶，她可以接受嗎。。 

I am Malay and my boss ask me to try this (his fav food) at a vegetarian restaurant.. I cant swallowed the taste at all but my boss like it so I just smile and said it was delicious 😭

擂茶很健康的食物来的。刚开始觉得不好吃。。可是吃上几次就大爱了。现在见到有擂茶，我就叫来吃了

Just a sidenote, despite being called "Hakka Leicha", the version that we eat in Malaysia are mainly based on a certain hakka called Hopo Hakka (河婆客家)。 Most other hakka do not have this Leicha culture. If you go to past, many other hakka people have never heard of this food. Taiwan also have Leicha, but their ingredient is different and they mostly "drink" only. The version that you eat with rice, is Hopo version.

客家擂茶刚开始吃会很不习惯，但吃多了会逐渐爱上它哟。这道菜也有背后的意义，由于客家人多住山区，经常需要体力干活，他们为了让身体变得健康和强壮，就地取材把山上的素食作为主食之一，慢慢发展成了现在的擂茶。吃擂茶有助于养生保健哦

雷茶和榴莲一样。喜欢的人会觉得好吃，不喜欢的人会觉得有一种难以接受的味道。我以前也不爱吃雷茶但后来慢慢习惯了🤣

客家の擂茶に興味があってマレーシア旅行中にイポーの喫茶店で初めて注文しました。お茶と様々な材料を擂ってドロドロにしたスムージーみたいなものだと思っていたら炒め野菜やご飯もが出てきて本当にびっくりしました。台湾でも客家擂茶はありますがご飯は付いていません。擂茶の多くはタイバジル(金不換/九層塔)とミントが入っているのでかなりかなり好みの分かれる味ですね。

第一次吃，不可以汤和菜参着吃。。是很难吃很难接受的，要分开吃，吃饭菜然后喝一口汤。。他们会吃的习惯了就喜欢参着吃。。👍

I like the fact that Kaori San is real and upfront with her opinion on the taste of Lei Cha, and continue to eat it anyway. To be honest, we have it in Singapore but I have never try it before, cause I’m not really into vege, thanks anyway!

哈哈，不是每个人接受得了的味道。喜欢的人就真的会特地去找来吃，不喜欢的人就真的不敢碰。我的家乡柔佛古来的客家擂茶很有名的，有机会你们去哪里一定要试哦！....*客家有分几种，只是河婆style的。新加坡也有。。。。我是可以每天吃都不觉得腻的。毕竟我从小吃到大。哈哈。

其实雷茶的茶其实是薄荷叶的汁。如果伤风了可以试试喝雷茶。我是超喜欢吃的。不油腻吃起来又健康。但我不喜欢放花生进去。我是喜欢分开吃的。饭里面是不加雷茶的。把雷茶当成汤来喝。很开胃。

我曾经参加过一个健康讲座，是一个中国医学博士主讲的，他就说过，我们客家人的雷茶是非常的健康👍🏻

Thx to tried n intro this Lei Cha(in Hakka we called it HAM CHA, mean salted tea). I'm Hopo Hakka also. Frankly, pls try again if your hv find other stall or restaurant selling this at other place. As it hv many different recipe. even different hakka family hv their own recipe. I myself dont like bitter taste one. But my mum cooked Lei Cha not bitter at all, as we did not put those bitter herb. So pls Kaori n Kwok Yeow keep trying to find a non bitter version, I'm sure sooner later u will like it!😜

I am hakka, i still remember i had leicha every afternoon for almost 10 yrs when my mom was housewife. And my family member run leicha reataurant and became 1st famous in JB back to 20 yrs ago...we love leicha like we love our money 🤣🤣🤣

Nowadays, we can see rei cya restaurant lesser and lesser. Because this dish requires a lot of different vegetables and spices and It’s hard to cook the soup with only one man. My grandmother and mother are the only people who know how to cook it and the recipe in my family. QQ

Thunder Tea rice my favorite. Put a few tablespoon of the tea into the bowl of rice with all the ingredients. Best eaten warm.

I love hakka lei cha however not every stall or shop made it taste nice.However there is one coffee shop in PJ Old Town behind Jin Xuan Dim Sum restaurant,d aunty made a nice hakka lei cha rice,I can eat several times a week when I was working around that area. The man loves it too

Lei Cha very healthy diet. Very popular food in Malaysia. Normally Chinese ppl when they want to eat diet food, they will go for LEI CHA. As Chinese hokkien, I dislike the flavour. But my wife crazy for this. Not easy to find restaurants or outlets who sell LEI CHA. 😁

I'm hakka (originally from HK but our ancestry was from central/northern China) and I've never had this leicha. It looks more like medicine! BWT, most of the hakkas came to Taiwan following Sun Yat-Sen who was also a hakka.

Go to Thong Kee Cafe Kepong g.co/kgs/LN3oyr There is a leicha store in this Cafe. It is second to the best for me. And the best leicha I have eaten so far is in Johor. I like leicha, but not leicha from every restaurant. Not easy to find a delicious one. 🤣 I like to eat leicha seperately also, eat the rice, then the soup. I don't pour the soup into the rice, so that i can taste the fragrance of the nuts and different vegetables. 😋
