Roti canai is in fact quite a wholesome food coz it has carb from the roti itself, the protein from dhal gravy and also the egg if you go for the roti telur. When I was studying for my final exam during my student days, i would go for two pieces of roti telur and that would be suffice to fuel my whole day activities.

Woooo, that shop really close to my house, used to go there for breakfast every weekend or take away during weekdays. The shop has been around for.almost 40 years since the grandfather and now the daughter and grandson manage it. A truly.melting pot of all malaysian

1) Sambal is a must 2) My favorite style is dhal + fish curry + sambal + BANJIR 3) Long time ago I tried a special stall which served roti canai goreng kambing, very nice, too bad cant even remember the location and shop name

Feel like having breakfast now but it is midnight ! ☺️ For packet drink, usually I will place the whole packet including the plastic bag into a big mug. Thus can drink from a mug without having to hold the packet to drink. Just sharing.

@@kaoriinmalaysia As you know, Malaysia was a British colony and there were many of us born during that time (our family has been there since late 1880s from HK, another British colony then). And the only language we learned at school was English and so I came to England to further my studies as a a teenager. Let's say a long time ago now, but, like many, I miss Malaysia every day and can only watch all these wonderful YT videos and dream of enjoying the best cuisine on earth! Enjoy your time on paradise.

In malaysia there are 2 types of roti canai. Mamak (indian) type & Malay type. The difference between both is malay type added a bit condensed milk to the roti batter. So there'll be a touch of a sweetness to the roti. I believe the roti you ate was the malay type.
