*Blazing Battle King: A Tale of AE86 and S13 Drift Battles*
Set against the backdrop of Hakone's Tsubaki Line, a renowned mountain pass, Blazing Battle King is a 1993 V-Cinema film that delves into the world of street racing, predating the Initial D manga series.
The protagonist, Ryoichi Takaba, is a passionate drifter who cherishes his AE86 Levin above all else. Working as a part-timer, he dedicates most of his earnings to his beloved car. Amidst the early 1990s, before the Initial D manga took the world by storm, this film captures the era's street racing scene and the iconic AE86's popularity.
*Synopsis*
While drifting along the Tsubaki Line at night, Ryoichi's AE86 Levin encounters an S13 Silvia K's driver, Eiichi, who instigates a battle. Ryoichi, however, falls victim to Eiichi's underhanded tactics and loses the race. The following day, at his regular car shop, Ryoichi acquires a new ride - an 180SX provided by Tokuda. As he revels in the power of the turbocharged vehicle, he once again crosses paths with Eiichi, the S13K's driver. Driven by his pride as a drifter and with the added complication of a newfound crush on a college student, Marimo Akimoto, Ryoichi challenges Eiichi to another battle.
