I fish that spot a lot for carp. When I pull up the trolling motor I fire up the outboard quick and give her the whiskey. Fly right down that fast channel like a rocket man. Never hit a rock.
I was locking through a Tennessee River dam (Guntersville) with some high school classmates in 1974 and we somehow started taking on water. Turned out to be a lost drain plug. We were on a trip from Decatur, Alabama to Chattanooga and all had been going great. Suddenly our feet were wet. Water was swirling and we were enclosed in the dam, freaking out. One of the guys crawled to the hole and stuck a shirt in the hole. Whew! Lesson learned! Respect the dam!!!!!!!!! I bet you that boater will respect that dam more after that.
If you drive forward as fast as you can all the water will push out. I hit a log once and broke my drain plug. Started taking on water fast.. i got on it and drove it to the ramp a few miles away. All the water pushed out. The hard part was getting my trailer in the water and the boat out before taking on too much water.

He'll just get a new boat in the next week or 2. I thought about purchasing a boat that was used for 1 year by a pro. Until I looked at the hull. My now 16 year old boat looks way better than that one did.

If he knew a bit about canoeing and kayaking....as in, how to respect the water instead of stomping it down with the hooves of horsepower, then he would have known not to take the boat through there.
@@oldschoolgoblin The guy at the helm has the choice....He put the boat there.....He's also has the choice to stand up, because his giant motor/Freudian ballsack has got him aft down and bow up.....and recognize that there's a bunch of big ass rocks ahead of him (note the angry water!) but a nice slack water area just off to his right...He's a knucklehead.
Even pro's don't know what their doing, that's the big take away because most people don't have money to replace expensive boats. This is entertaining at all and I kinda of have a problem with the announcer.

Those aren’t “extreme conditions”. Extreme is Alaska in the winter, PNW storms where the average winter storm wave height on the Oregon coast is 35 feet from sea level, about 45-50 feet total from the trough to the crest. There is a reason PNW boaters are considered some of the toughest boaters.
How so? How did this effect you or anyone that wasn’t on that boat in any way? If you’re not fishing to compete then how does a professional fisherman ruin your fishing experience in anyway?
There’s no such thing as professional fisherman they just fish for a living. Tv hunters aren’t professional hunters they are hunters who get paid to host

Moral of the story... Don’t go near Dams; that’s why they’re Restricted Areas. Don’t endanger us Rescuers having to try to save you over Fish. Fish can survive; you might not. We might not.
I think a lot of you are way to concerned about what other people do with there own property. Fish how you want to fish and don't bad mouth someone for fishing the way they want. That other person in the boat knew well in advance what location they would be fishing. Unlike a "river sled" that bass boat has enough foam in it to stay afloat even if those rocks ripped a huge hole in her. Lock the deck down, turn on the bilge, trim that 200 up as far as you can so she is still pi$$ing water and get the hell out of there. Just like he did, sure it cost him some repairs but hell so can a stump or a shallow gravel flat when your running 60 and most times just as dangerous.
Why would you navigate waters with a boat and not know where the obstructions are? I guess not having to worry about the boat and motor lets one look stupid and just laugh it off.
