My thoughts....He never sold out. His sound is his own. Nashville seems to think that music like this won't sell. So we get what we have now....I call it watered down country. This is what I call 90 proof country. You won't get stuff like this on the radio because most people can't handle the strong stuff.

Because he’s not a slave to the big record machine in Nashville, and he hasn’t compromised his roots or himself. Nashville is a joke. I’d rather listen to cats fight than “country radio.”

Same here. And several years after I heard it I had a chance to visit Texas......cracked up a bottle of Shinerbock and turned this song on my phone as I watched the sun set :)

Thank you Jason. Brings me back to my home state. I live in Seattle, but my heart belongs to Texas. I had this song on repeat while flying back to BIG TEX to see my dad. My mom who passed away 6 years ago would have loved to hear this song.

Former Texan that still loves and watches every cowboys game,Mavericks game,rangers,and stars game, and loves his home. High school football is a religion. Been in Minnesota 17 years, but will always be a Texan, and I thank god for my accent.
