Can you play live with this through an Iphone, or would you have to plug a laptop into an amp Jason, it sounds great but it puzzles me. Any help would be much appreciated as am on the verge of buying one but such an outlay would be decadent if it was to merely play sat in front of a computer.
Well, I’m not sure about the iPhone, but my iPad can be connected through a P.A.. It may require an interface if it doesn’t have a headphone jack. I’ve been using the DM live for a few years now. But like any electronic based instrument it’s never quite as simple as pulling a harmonica out your pocket. Electric guitars need amps, even keyboards need either an amp or a decent monitor system so you can hear what your playing. You can also use a sound module like the VL70 (which I still use mostly live) that doesn’t go through a computer or iPad, but that also requires an interface. I’ve been using MIDI for decades, so I have the patience to figure stuff out - it’s actually fun for me. Cheers, j
@@Bluesbop thanks for that very detailed answer Jason. I am pretty nerdy though not with midi, but I don't see any obstacles there...eventually. The Swam patches sound unbelievable and authentic, especially via a player of your quality. I am getting to a very decent level on chromatic, lockdown has given me that opportunity, having played diatonic for 30 years. There are no no end either, to the advantages of silent practice. Again, hearty thanks for that clarification. It truly helps.
