Ok. So he is singing about a girl he loves very much but they just don't always get along. Sharp words are said at times but since they do love each other so much they continue to fight for their relationship to work. Love is a "beautiful mess". Sometimes you have to fight through those rough days to have that one perfect day that reminds you why you love that person so much. Beautiful Mr. A to Z
I love this live version because it's not ruined by the audience's cheering. He is the only artist that I can say I truly like his live performances better than his studio versions. Amazing.
What I love about Jason Mraz is that he seems to have total mastery over all his songs. And because of that, he is able to make unique expressions and play with the songs (like in 4:25) , like none of his acoustical versions of songs are all the same. Favorite Artist :)
Armando Ruiz I've sent this to a friend and the reply was... "He has a nice voice"... Really?? That's what you heard? This song speaks to me of my life and you hear his "nice voice"... Nope, not my people!
This song will always be able to bring me to tears, and bring out my best smile, give me the hope I need, and the strength to get me through the toughest days, and most of all will always be my favorite, it has gotten me through so much.... 'Here we are, we're still here'... so powerful. I even have the lyrics as a tattoo, one I will def never regret
Most of them says, ed sheeran is the best. I know he's good BUT compared to Jason Mraz, Jason's songs are more magical, touching, sometimes you don't even understand the lyrics yet it felt so good. It's just that Jason is a bit under rated :(
ima leave the lyrics here.. cause people love to watch this while singing along. You've got the best of both worlds You're the kind of girl who can take down a man, And lift him back up again You are strong but you're needy, Humble but you're greedy Based on your body language, Your shouted cursive I've been reading You're style is quite selective, Though your mind is rather reckless Well I guess it just suggests That this is just what happiness is Hey, what a beautiful mess this is It's like picking up trash in dresses Well it kind of hurts when the kind of words you write Kind of turn themselves into knives And don't mind my nerve you can call it fiction Cause I like being submerged in your contradictions dear Cause here we are, here we are Although you were biased I love your advice Your comebacks they're quick And probably have to do with your insecurities There's no shame in being crazy, Depending on how you take these Words that paraphrasing this relationship we're staging And it's a beautiful mess, yes it is It's like, we are picking up trash in dresses Well it kind of hurts when the kind of words you say Kind of turn themselves into blades And the kind and courteous is a life I've heard But it's nice to say that we played in the dirt Cause here, here we are, Here we are We're still here And what a beautiful mess this is It's like taking a guess when the only answer is yes And through timeless words in priceless pictures We'll fly like birds not of this earth And tides they turn and hearts disfigure But that's no concern when we're wounded together And we tore our dresses and stained our shirts But it's nice today, oh the wait was so worth it Source: LyricFind
my first time when i watched this when it had about 100,000+ views (5 years ago).. and it is always the best 6 minutes of my days.. close the eyes, and enjoy the music from heaven. thank you Jason
Love you Jason i am a 80 year old black woman i listen to a different music love Jason Mraz. I am a musican too keep on Jason I am not easy young man. Well done Jason😍😍🥰😍
This so is s Beautiful, I also first heard this song from the movie Black or White. This song truly touches my heart. In fact I love the whole album. We Sing We Dance We Steal Things
raymundo etaraz you have used the word industry so appropriately man I can feel you, music nowadays is just like any other massly produced goods, driven by profit-minded producers trying to earn as much as possible. I wish that the true spirit of musicians like Jason's would continue so that the future generation would still have the privilege of appreciating rare but good music
So true Mraz is the most underrated artist/singer/composer/musician to me but he won't give up to keep making music up to now (his new album YES! is one of the most spiritual album he made for trying to make people more spiritual and hope for a better tomorrow unlike songs nowadays) and the music industry now is infested by Wiz Khalifa and Miley Cyrus thats one of the reasons he isn't getting notice (because you know, the genre Wiz and Miley and other singers does now is way different and almost has the same tune). Mraz is also a very humble guy he accepts that there are other people better than him (even we Mraz fans know that he is the best) and he is also a friendly guy who talks with his fans (he even uses his bike to go around the city) that other singers lack of (most singers are always like after a concert they would just go leave get in the car and then leave their fans and only VIP or front row seats in their concerts could have a chance to meet and greet them). I think one of the reasons Mraz wasn't popular was because that he never worked on Vevo (the company that pressures singers to make music) plus Mraz is a guy who makes pure music (which takes time to compose) and from the start he was like on the company with the blue thingy (IDK the company that he works on) up to now (he was only famous because of the song The Remedy (I won't worry),Im Yours and I won't Give Up) but its actually nice to hear that on the school im in my classmates knows the song I'm Yours on the guitar but doesn't know the singer of it
The first time I ever heard this song was live. It was flawless (JUST LIKE) the "Live On Earth" version and it made me cry three times! Seeing him live is a must! 💝
Commented on this clip several years ago, just curious about what people had to say today. When I first heard the song, I thought it was one of the strangest but I changed that to unusual, love songs. The song and the arrangement are beautiful and let's not over look the perfect harmony that Mr. Tuco Rivera adds to the.. beauty.
The movie Black Or White led me here, beautifully written and performed. My first time hearing this song. Oh and by the way I liked the movie. I liked how everyone wanted to do what is right for the child, even Kevin Costner's character at the end.

Baby girl was made a mess through some bad experiences happening one after an other and she had no control on what was happening. She felt over whelmed and the world wasn’t slowing down. I was watching my best friend get eaten up alive and there was nothing I can do. Ultimately, we split up because life just got so complicated at the moment. If taking a step back could some how help her find a middle ground in this crazy world even without me in it, then so be it. I wish I can show her this song so she can see if even she thinks she is a mess, she’s my beautiful mess and I still love her. Maybe one day and maybe we can embrace each other again. Mental health is no joke everybody. Take care.
A beautiful song featured in a beautiful movie, "Black or White" with a spectacular performance by Kevin Costner in a role departure from his normal roles.
What a performance! this is what makes an artist UNIQUE!.. I've heard great records from different artists all my life, but LIVE is another thing.. Today I can say that this performance was so full of emotion that I would say is one of the best of all times!
I'm sure many have thought this, but TO A TEE, this song discribes me. As if he knows me. I thank you Jason for creating a song that makes me feel beautiful. :)
He is so passionate about his music, you can see it in his face. He means and feels every word. Not to mention this is just an amazing performance. His vocals are practically flawless, and what a gorgeous song!
Jason Mraz is such a wonderful artist and we are BLESSED to have him ;) such heartfelt and thoughtful music touches many and is what all singer and songwritters should aspire too.. GO JASON
Heard this for the first time 12/18/19 and love it. Can't stop crying and listening to it over and over. Loved seeing Jason in concert in this video. Wish I was there. Makes me so lonely.
