Heartbreaking! So pleased Jason and his family are fine, and yes the car can be replaced but that car and its history, Jason's time and effort, and the late nights working on it can't be replaced and that's sad, really sad.

Glad you're all safe mate, gutted about the car. This is exactly why I don't trust technology, I tell my other half and the kids NEVER leave ANYTHING on charge over night or for extended periods of time. I even check mobile phone chargers to make sure they are all turned off before bed. The fire service did a job second to none, we take them for granted until... God forbid our hour of need. In 1986 in our home town of Letterkenny there was a fire where 4 kids and their babysitter lost their lives - we knew the family well - it was just an awful tragedy which still gets talked about today - The grief will never subside - Yours could have been a different story so easily but you are all safe and your house survived relatively well- You have taken it well lad but still I'm gutted for you ! Onwards and upwards!!

I seen on social media when jason posted it and the pictures that was floating about online, was genuinely gutted😢..I see the full built process and everything Jason did on the RS turbo, for it all to be wiped away in a flash due to a shitty lithium battery is heart breaking!! Gutted for you jase, but it’s only a lump of metal and compared to you and your family’s life the car is worthless!..so glad to hear you and everyone involved are perfectly fine👏🏼💯..onto bigger and better now, only way is up💙

Nightmare I lost my volvo t5 estate a few years back abs pump decided to burn at 7.30 in the morning, parked up against garage managed to push it up hill on my own into the road like yours total loss I feel for you man, makes me wonder it the EV charging is safe left over night battery's can be very unpredictable, good luck for the future and I hope you find something similar to replace it all the best Jim

I am honestly so glad Jason's family is safe and sound it is a massive shame about the car but I have seen these battery fires and he got lucky with the Christmas lights having a problem could of been so much worse just wishing him and his family the best 🙂
Noooo that’s absolutely gutting. I like Jason he’s always been a good thing for this channel and that’s terrible! The family are all ok thankfully. Let’s hope this isn’t an issue for others charging stuff up as it’s an ever growing trend for households now be it cars,E bikes and scooters.

My kitchen caught fire 2 years ago in Jan. Lost me dog, me cat and a rabbit. No insurance on contents. Got a massive ammount of escort parts up the loft and thankfully they are ok. Still got drawers full of stuff that need cleaned soot off. Smoke gets into everything man. Glad you are all ok. You are right about charging stuff. Were surrounding ourselves with these things more and more. Charge stuff outside people or keep one eye on them. Trust nothing people.. Rip escort.
Can tell this is still very hard to talk about just glad they all made it out safe , this is why you don't charge lithium batteries over night in inside as once they catch fire your not stopping them quickly
Glad you are all safe that’s the main thing I’ve just installed 2x wireless smoke/fire alarms in my garage Also have smart plugs that I can turn off power to electrical items in there Better safe than sorry
Bad things happen to good people,but I'm sure you had lots of good times owning it and building it hope you do get to build another one again in thevfuture .
So sorry to hear your story Jason, gutted about the car and poor pet, but glad everyone else is okay. Having been through the same, fridge freezer caused it though, it’s tough to get that smell out of everything isn’t it! There’s a reason in the RC world these batteries are always charged in fire proof bags but as you say, they don’t make that clear enough on scooters and bikes etc. I know part of this video was to get the true story out there but also hopefully it will help spread the word about the risks of charging these batteries indoors!
We had a major house fire in 2014 and it’s the worst thing, smoke and water make the most damage! Hope you and your family are ok bud, I know what you’re going though 👍

If any positive can come from this is that we won’t be charging lithium batteries inside the house now and lots of others will do the same. Very sad to loose a car and garage but family and house escaped, that puts everything in perspective.

Xr3 top speed was 120 mph with 4 speed box xr3i was 118 mph rs 1600 was 123 all on the clock I drove all 3 and raced xr2s best horse power I got from a cvh 1.6 was 162bhp on a carb did 7 mpg non turbo but the engine was only cvh on the outside lol
was almost too painful to watch and I could see he was struggling to talk about after all this time. Just goes to show you what can happen really put you off buying anything like that that comes from China but There’s no getting away from it most stuff does 😢
