The best clue I can get it probably from the library section where it says the current elders vision can only see though 1-2 pages so my guess is you have to overlay the target page the what’s printed 1-2 pages over.

My copy just arrived yesterday! It is the "newest" (at time of recording). Looking over Shiga's work I anticipated you were going to enjoy this more than Wyesol's 2120.

I KNOW John M. WIthers IV is all over this game book! This was easier to navigate, kind of, but also just not very interesting as a story. 2120 was at least interesting when I cheated and got the the meat of the story. A better synchronization between story and method of delivery. Have you played Leviathan far enough to have an answer to how many jewels are on the scepter? I was stumped on that one and the answer seemed totally irrelevant.

How do you figured out how many gems are in the band? I am looping through the book for couple of days.

Uhhh... I would have to go back and replay it. I totally forget. Sorry. I got stuck on the chest, if I remember correct. My strategy for not looping was making marks in the book or using small sticky notes to mark ever route I took.

I just got the book and I’m wondering…. How many ending are there?

I think there is one proper ending, but I am not sure. I had to cheat to get past the treasure chest, if I remember correctly.

Cool review! Can you review other comic gamebooks (I prefer to call it like that as a broader hybrid of the two genres)? Quirks Books have published 7 such titles under the "The Comic Book You Can Play" brand. Van Ryder Games have published ~ 22 titles under the "Graphic Novel Adventures" brand. IDW Publishing have only 1. All of them are actually French in origin. Marvel have "You are Deadpool" and a weird attempt with Carnage. All of the above are available easily in the US. So, there are definitely available and I do believe that all of them are worth talking about.

Thank you for that list! I was unaware of most of those. As I can afford them I will definitely come back to this list and add to my collection. Right now I am having some family issues that are going to curtail my spending.

@@clubgrubbug , fingers crossed that this period in your life resolves soon and in the best way possible! As for spending, since most of what I mentioned are US publishers, I think they will make discounts for upcoming holidays like Black Friday, Thanksgiving ... or Christmas. I bought 75% of VanRyder books during a Christmas discount in 2021 - I think the discount was 18% ...

The Leviathan story felt shorter but more typical than Meanwhile.

Yes, I found Meanwhile to be more impressive, maybe just because it was the first thing I had seen like it. I do like the night/day transitions and cheating in Leviathan, though. Fun stuff.

@@clubgrubbug I honestly didn't know Leviathan was 1 of 3. I bought it because of Shiga's name without reading up on it. I do wonder if they weave together or if it'll be three different independent mini stories like this one.
