Larry always spoke on his fear of dying… I hope he found a better more peaceful place than here, also I don’t think we’re the only animal that knows we will die,
I remember him saying this on the Norm Macdonald show and Norm just laughed because it was counter to what he thought he would say. And Norm was sick with cancer at the time. Bless him.
If you’re scared of dying because you want to live forever, then just think yourself lucky. It means your life is alright, you aren’t suffering, not truly. Yes you may have the usual ups and downs that life brings, but if you don’t want it to end then you have it good. Try to be grateful for that and live the life you do have as full as you can. Also it’s okay to be afraid of dying, as dying is often painful, but don’t be afraid of death itself. You won’t know the difference. Just like during anaesthesia, only you’ll never reflect on it, there’s no going to be no emotion, no fear. (Or if you’re religious you get to comfort yourself with the thought of heaven which is supposed to be paradise, so no fear necessary at all with that one.)
You are correct that we won't know any different when we are dead, just like under anesthesia we don't know anything and just like before we are born we never knew anything, that really is not comforting for me, because what terrifies me is the thought of never knowing anything or experiencing anything ever again, it's completely correct that we won't care when we are dead because we cannot care and that's what is scary/
If you could live for 50,000 years, you would either have had enough and end it all before, or, on the 364th day of the 49,999th year, you would still want another day. Gotta end sometime.
You're right, it's got to end some time but wouldn't it be great if every one can have that choice as to when they've had enough? for me 80 or 90 years is far from enough.
@@JonathanAlmgren I think the lack of choice is what makes it scariest. It’s going to happen. No matter what we do. And it may happen sooner than we want.
you will never live forever accidents happen, and even if you the luckiest man on earth, even the earth will die, there is no escaping death just like there is no escaping life it just happens
Nothing to fear because nothing happens after death you don't exist anymore no feelings emotions thoughts pain happyness nothing so Larry you are now gone you don't exist anymore rest easy Larry
John 3:16, reads: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Revelation 20:13 The sea gave up its dead, and Death and Hades gave up their dead, and each one was judged according to his deeds. 14Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death- the lake of fire. 15And if anyone was found whose name was not written in the Book of Life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.…

Although, the moment you're cursed to live forever, I think your fear would dissapate. You'd have a long time to think about things are rationalise your predicament
@@konan8353 The human race has spent its entirely existance rationalising predicaments - its what we refer to as 'philosophy'. Its also how we attempt to make sense of existing for the equivalent of a blink of an eye in the context of the universe. Radical life extension wont lessen our fears, but it will provide a freedom of sorts from the angst we feel regarding our suboptimal biology.
I don't think I will ever truly understand why an atheist would fear death. They believe there won't be anything of them to feel, to fear, to experience. . .they won't exist anymore. Why wouldn't that be comforting?
@@rolandcuthbert784 I guess the idea of completely not existing is a scary one in a way. All the matter that makes us ourselves breaks down but it won't be scary when It happens it's just the thought of the end I guess
@@rolandcuthbert784 do you really need an answer to this question? It’s obviously the eternal non existence. All humans have known is existence and the one thing that was fundamental and constant to their only perception of reality is stripped away in an instant forever and always
@@LA-eq4mm Again, that makes no sense to me. If you exist after death in some fashion, that is terrifying. If you don't exist, then you don't exist. There isn't a "you" to be terrified. There isn't a "you" to experience fear or to experience anything at all.
