Absolutely one of the best songs of the 80's and one of the best bands ever to come out of Nashville. Can't turn up the volume enough for this one...RAWK!!!
Love love love this album summer of 1985 in Mt Shasta.still can sing along in 2023..gosh am that old and that long ago nevervever ever.frevever young in my heart
The guitarist is amazing. Warner Hodges is his name... He plays with Dan Baird from the Georgia Satellites. I saw them in Macon GA a few years back and they blew the roof off the joint!
They should be in a hall of fame but sadly too many blind people failed to see this incredible band hey Jason was kick ass In you're face and true fans had a hero we wanted to be like take a bow guys you had it in spades
I moved to Austin walking around I came upon Jason and his Scorchere playing a outdoor show at rush hour!!! Across the river from me, but it was awesome.
Once upon a time I knew the singer's brother Jerry Ringenberg who had song writing credit for at least one of their biggest songs. I always thought that Jason and the Scorchers knew how to rock the right way.
I've never heard that song before....and wow, your not kidding it does rock! I think this sound would have been accepted a lot more in the early nineties when alternative music was widely accepted and played on mainstream stations.
How this country punk band not get it's deserved Fame and fortune pisses me off. Maybe if Metallica had the balls to cover it America would wake up to how great this song was/is. Was it country? Punk? Heavy metal? Southern rock? Ahead of it's time even today? Yes.
Yes it's cow punk which had but a few bands to fall under that banner. Lone justices soup soap salvation is another cow punk song. Anybody still reading these comments can you name some others because i cant.
Some other 80s cowpunk records E-I-E-I-O Land of Opportunity Green on Red - No Free Lunch And my absolute fave: The Beat Farmers - Tales of the New West
A little farther afield are Los Lobos, X, and don’t sleep on old Dwight Yoakam. At some point the cool kids decided he was too country but Guitars Cadillacs still holds up
Mike smith- I guess it's just us to champion slept on bands from yesterday. I have most of X's albums as they were underappreciated too. I forgot about country dick and happy boy, calif. Kid and tales of the new west. Thanks for reminding me.
What this shows is that every generation of country music is going to have a section that tries to mimic/incorporate elements of dominant popular music into country. Bro Country will pass.
One of the hottest Bands of the late 70s-80s. And I've been chasing this particular bad boy down for 20 freakin years!! Eureka Motherf*ckers!!!! 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
