I think her point was that Griner should have been paid more to play in the US-putting aside the fact that the league lost money every year-and, thus, wouldn’t have needed to play in Russia. What horse hockey. She picked an industry that had salary caps. She decided to go somewhere in the off-season to make more money. That’s not the country’s fault. It’s because the WNBA is not popular. There was a time when other sports didn’t make massive revenue and pros had to work in the off season. Chuck Bednarik carried ice blocks. Others sold cars etc. I don’t blame Griner for going to Russia and forgetting that she had vape cartridge in her luggage. For that l, no one deserved to spend a second in prison. And as an aside, I’m a former prosecutor and read the relevant Russian criminal statute. Under it, it called for zero jail time and basically the equivalent of a traffic ticket. I’m not sure why this has not been reported here. She was convicted of a drug trafficking charge that required much much quantities of drugs. She was convicted essentially of being a drug dealer trafficking in large quantities of drugs. Which of course is not what she did. Any way, nice video.
