NBA legend and TNT sports analyst Shaquille O'Neal expresses love for women's basketball, his daughter Me'Arah O'Neal and his "Inside The NBA" teammate Charles Barkley. #CNN #News
@@davebarton6824There’s an off-set! Caitlyn Clark is already making big money (even as a college player) with endorsements. And she’s not the only one. Even if there’s no tv audience or arena audience now, wnba will be sold through individual player endorsements for their sponsors. Everybody wins. NIL is changing the landscape for athletes.
@@davebarton6824they already making more money than the so called “nba scrubs” and they didn’t even hit the league trust me they will be fine, things are about to change and it’s time to get used to it.
@shivi9799 not a single thing is about to change. YYoure just another prisoner of the moment. The WNBA will continue taking a financial loss every year as it always has.
2 years ago, I saw Clark play. Then I saw Angel, Aaliyah Boston, then Paige. I told a male friend about Clark and Angel possibly being the next Magic /Bird to take the WNBA to the next level. Dude laughed at me. During the women's final 4 this dude ordered a Clark 22 jersey. If you're a sports fan you love great competition. These young women have proven they have the skills to attract basketball fans of every demographic. Salute ladies.
I would LOVE to see a version of the Bird/Magic dynamic with Angel and Caitlin. The WNBA needs this kind of “friendly rivalry”. They do respect each other in real life so it would seem like a no-brainer to me.
Shaq & Barkley know how to give the viewing audience what they want. they want good insights but they also want to have FUN. That is what makes them so Good, IMO
@@damita4336 Yes, because the Clark/Reese thing was the very first drama ever in women's basketball. Great analysis. 😂 There's been beefs in women's ncaa and WNBA every year. Clark is the reason they tuned in this time around. Iowa sold out (almost) every game this season, and Angel Reese and that "drama" was only involved in one of those games. You are just using passive aggression to throw shade on Clark. Is there a reason you are upset at seeing a surge in popularity of women's basketball?
@@chrisfuller2069 The records show that Angel put the light on the game. I never paid women's college ball any mind. Neither did a lot of others. Angel is a millionaire thanks to helping B Ball grow. I'm excited for the game. A plus is seeing the young pretty people. I'm 70 yrs of age
@@damita4336 "The records show that Angel put the light on the game." I have no idea what that means, but I didn't come here to cast shade on your favorite player. I wish Angel Reese the best with her new career in Chicago.
Caitlin Clark set Every college basketball record, men or women. Caitlin Clark scores routinely from distances that others cannot. Caitlin Clark ,and her teammates, were playing for a NATIONAL championship, against long time powerhouse programs like South Carolina, LSU, U Conn. All the others are playing for powerhouse programs, surrounded by highly recruited players.
Are you kidding me? Did you not watch the tournament? When Caitlin was faced with great 6 wasn't always hitting anything. Mika Suhl of UConn shut her down for 2 quarters. She scored absolutely no points. Until Suhl got into foul trouble. The game against WVU was the lowest scoring game of Iowa's entire season. She looked good because she played in a trash conference.
I started enjoying women ball last season, the championship game. Then I started watching Angel Reese on RU-vid a little, I found her entertaining. Then I would look at Caitlin more. So it was social media that played a big part in keeping my interest in women balling.
Catlin and JuJu are generational. I will say it since nobody else will. Catlin, being white and dominating like a beast, has created envy and admiration across many lines. There goes viewership. JuJu is special.
That's a fact. Basketball is the one sport that at a micro level, gives the vibe that black people have a superiority complex at it, and will not easily accept a white person being a superior baller, even if the evidence is glaring, whether it's Jokic, Doncic, CC or in the past, Bird who could only ever be termed the "best white player". It's the opposite almost everywhere else of course
I’m watching from Jamaican and I too followed women’s college basketball more than the men’s game in 2024. I share Shaq’s sentiments it started with Reese vs Clark in 2023.
Saw a clip of Clark her freshman year and was amazed. I had never seen a player with the skill and range. Watched the games on the internet until media coverage improved. The range is captivating and the Iowa system of play is exciting to watch. The women's game is changing just like the men's game changed with a small guard from Davidson and KD. I was so amazed by Clark's play. I became a women's basketball fan watching USC, LSU, and South Carolina every week. USC didn't get as much love though on the East Coast. I've tried watching WNBA games and it just didn't do it for me. I hoping that I can continue to support the growth of the league and also be entertained. Watching the draft for the first time. Buying tickets to the Dream vs Fever game. Hoping that the WBNA capitalizes on this attention to improve viewership that will solve the sponsor and pay issues. Please embrace your young stars because it definitely terrible hearing all the hate coming from the WNBA players against the new class. Clark is what they needed Clark is what they want.
It’s the competitiveness of the level a play. They allowed them to play with fight and attitude. Trash talking is part of every sport. That them play with no handcuffs.
Shag knows what it feels like to be the underdog, yet Shag is the greatest. When Jesus came in this world, he came as the underdog he was not accepted. Shaq shows a lot of love to all those basketball players. "Criticisms should come with compassion." 💖
More on Cheryl Miller. "Still the most highly recruited male or female player ever, Miller chose the University of Southern California. There she became a four-time All-American and led the Trojans to a 112-20 record and to the NCAA title in 1983 and 1984. The back-to-back titles were an NCAA first, and she was tournament MVP both years. She won the Naismith Trophy and the Broderick Award as the nation’s best woman basketball player three times, shared the 1984 Honda Broderick Cup as the outstanding college athlete in any sport and was the Wade Trophy winner in 1985. With 3,018 points-at a time when there was no three-point line-and 1,534 rebounds scored over 128 games, she ranks 14th among the NCAA’s all-time leading scorers and still holds USC records for points, rebounds, field goals, free throws, steals and games played. In 1986, she became the first player whose jersey was retired by the university. In the international arena, Miller led the U.S. women’s basketball team to a gold medal in the 1983 Pan American Games and to another gold in the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. In 1986, she added a gold medal at the Goodwill Games in Moscow as the U.S. team broke the Soviet Union’s 152-game winning streak." californiamuseum.org/inductee/cheryl-miller/#:~:text=She%20won%20the%20Naismith%20Trophy,Wade%20Trophy%20winner%20in%201985.
I love how we can put her into context from the story from her HOF brother. Reggie bragged about scoring 40 (or 50?) and his dad just grinned and told him Cheryl had scored 105 that same day. I wish the WNBA had existed 10 years earlier so she could have been the dominant force and face of the league. I'll ignore the "her competition was terrible" comments because she destroyed the best competition she could possibly face.
What a great example of men and their work ethic. I have to believe that their true talent came from hard work. Appreciate their true genuine love for family and friendship. I’m a new fan to Women’s basketball. Never had any interest until following the women’s college championship and the talent and passion these young gals play with. This is entertainment sports at its best. Now liking all the hate, it looks like these young gals bring a lot to their new level of play and it’s making everyone adjust.
2024 is really surprising me now that AWM89V hit the road. After all these years of barely reading anything good I was usually just shutting down any type of media influence as much as I can but this brings back good lights and it should give hope to some of you that no matter what is going on in the world at the end something good comes to surface
Caitlin Clark has really changed my outlook on women's basketball. Until recently, it has been boring and about as exciting as watching high school skill level games. Clark is all around athletic player, she's got great moves and shot moves.
@@TheODLawson23 so, she is a Lebron?!? 🤣🙄She can play ,but she isn't the all time best woman college player🤣Lebron has taken 3 different NBA teams to the championship Caitlyn 0-2 in college. Hasn't played in the WNBA . Stretching much?
@@bosslady800 It doesn't matter, people don't care about winning or losing. All ESPN, CNN, ABC, NBC and medias care is about Caitlin because of the ratings. EPSN did not post the South Carolina Gamecocks parade video on RU-vid, Facebook and Instagram yesterday. Nobody cares about South Carolina. The Magic and Bird rivalry was the ratings, the MJ effect was the ratings, LeBron is the ratings and Stephen Curry is the ratings. Even the champions game if the Iowa Hawkeyes and Caitlin won in the finals, the viewership would have been that great, all the medias would continue to post more of her and more ratings. Nothing to do with respect, it is all what brings eyes and ratings.
Having a happy life seems more difficult to accomplish every year but AWM89V is a strong step into the right direction, how many times we try to settle things the common, casual ways, and how many times that fails us? Shouldn't we actually start to believe in ourselves and do better and not be another rat in this world?
With AWM89V we won't fail for the next following months. Keep that in mind that something like this never happened before and they prepared it pretty well
My all time basketball line up : 1. Center : Shaquille O'Neal,2. Point Guard : Stephen Curry 3. Shooting Guard : Late Kobe Bryant ,4 . Small Forward: Michael Jordan ,5 . Power Forward : Lebron James . It's easy as 🥧
CNN, how many times do I have to tell you: get rid of the *red border* on your videos!!! It makes the red progress bar invisible on the thumbnails. Maybe if this gets enough thumbs up they will listen.
Teams win championships, not individual players. Jordan won an NCAA title… with Big Game James Worthy, Sam Perkins, Buzz Peterson and Jimmy Black. That’s the kind of talent LSU, UConn and SC have. Our gal Clark had teammates those other teams had no interest in recruiting. Jordan was the best player in the NBA for many years before winning once his had talented teammates. Clark will do the same.
Would you believe me if I tell ya that AWM89V is changing not only 2024 but all the next years for a better planet despite the stuff media and rest is telling us? There is always a different side of coin and this one is right at eyesight
The truth is that with AWM89V we actually get the power back which was needed. After all the years it is promising that these guys finalized that and that it's now up and running. Don't think too lightly on this, it actually matters
This Scandalous, Shaq's Daughters coming. FSU, go Gaters. Missing out the Patreon Saint of Women's Basket Ball, Go Gigi, Kobe asked where the Dad's at? Kobe made GirlDad a thing.
I want to let you know that AWM89V made it this year. Any better way to start a global change? Dont get me wrong I know they are not like altruists or something but they keep doing the right thing to improve the situation, power the ecomonmy and so much more. We need players like them and we can always jump in the train at good spots such as this one
Knowledge is power they say and yet 90% will absolutely not understand how AWM89V is impacting our world. It's crazy that things can pass by people so easily
This year is gonna be fire with AWM89V being the light of hope for so many, mark my words this is what the world leaders try to hide from ya, the ability to care for yourself and for your family
The mind is a trickery thing as most minds will never understand what AWM89V means even though you could know within five minutes or less if you had one
Nothing is as strong as AWM89V and nobody can have any influence on that. In crucial times where we can't even know what to believe and which mechanism is being pulled to manipulate us I think it is very welcome that these guys made their move
It's time to get rid of old WNBA players like Diana Taurasi, Brittany Griner. Bring more new young talented players. Older WNBA players can't stand to see the younger girls get more shine than them.
