Yeah he killed thousands on that space station the movie should have acknowledged it more cus that is horrifying he just killed loads of families and the movie just brushed past it
@LGSPTJ do you guys not watch the channel? They're going through the whole series first. F v J is neither a nightmare or a Friday movie. The girls will finish the current series and reboot before going to a crossover. So... reboot THEN crossover. Up next... Friday 2009... let me know if I'm wrong...
I just wanted to let you know life hit me pretty hard and at one point I didn't want to be here anymore. One day it was so hard and I happened to run across your reaction video's and it made me smile for the first time in so long. So I wanna say thank you for taking me out of that dark place you don't know how much I needed that smile.
The Professor who says the "he just wanted his machete back" line is the original voice of Link from the Legend of Zelda cartoon of the late 80s. "Well, excuuuuse me, Princess" :P Imagine him saying that to Jason. :O
This is such a fun and creative movie, 6:56 that Doctor is David Cronenberg, a famous Director, who made The Fly (1986), Videodrome, and A History of Violence
Freddy vs Jason was supposed to be the next film after Jason Goes To Hell. That’s why they did the Freddy teaser at the end, but the film ended up lingering in development hell for 10 years, and original Friday The 13th director Sean S Cunningham wanted to keep Jason relevant in people’s minds while Freddy vs Jason was being developed, so they made Jason X to fill in the time gap
Tara , wishing you well while you're in transition to your new meds. I made the same switch to "Wellbutrin XL" and TBH I am SOO glad that I did. I hope you do well on it. ✌🏻
Since Jason couldn’t be at Crystal Lake, he brought the camp to Jason X. The campy-ness of this movie makes me love it even more. My fav sequel of the franchise. It’s so fun!
Jason X came out in 2001. Irony...they're talking about Lisa Ryder and knowing her from stuff while being completely oblivious to the fact that Dr. Wimmer is being played by the famous Director David Cronenberg😂
@@ConstantineFurman It doesn't matter if the movie is American or made by Americans or has a cast of Americans (that is absolutely idiotic and stupid, lol), the movie's RELEASE date was in 2001. This movie (regardless of origin) was released in three other countries before the US. In fact, the earliest release was July 24th, 2001 at the Munchen Fantasy Filmfest. COUNTLESS of movies are released elsewhere BEFORE the US at film festivals, including movies made by Americans. When the producers tally up the revenue of the movie, they include revenue from overseas. Try doing some research, maybe you'll learn something.
The bald guy who had his head cut off during the simulation and then his face smashed against the wall when they came back into the real world is the guy who wrote the movie
@@Nope2022HugeTheWarningFan Do keep in mind, though, that the movie is not the script he wrote. Todd wrote a much darker scarier story than what they made.
@mrkmoney1234 & idk if anyone else has seen these but THEMERKINS have some hilarious videos with Freddy Ghostface and some of the others. As well as radical talent has a funny Michael Myers and Ghostface best buds movie. It makes ghostface remind me of Peter Parker/Spiderman and Michael like Ironman or even Batman or something 😂
Lexi Doig (from Chucky) and Lisa Ryder were both in a show called Andromeda, and this movie is a funny reversal of their dynamic on the show. On the show Lexa Doig is the ships A.I. and uses an Android body called Rommie, Lisa Ryder is a human Beka Valentine, in Jason X this is obviously reversed with Lisa being the android Kay-Em 14, and Lexi being the human Rowan.
Lisa and Lexa ,the first time i saw them in Andromeda Ascendent as Beka and Rommie. I don't care what others say, i love that series. It has Kevin Sorbo, Keith Hamilton, Steve Bacic and this 2 girls. It's one of my guilty pleasures.
According to Jay and Mike from RLM, this movie was the first movie to have all of its post production done digitally, mainly digital color grading. However, the film was shelved for 2 years, and in the meantime, ‘O Brother, where art thou?’ By the Coen Brothers was released. It also, was had all of its post production done digitally, and most often gets credit for being the first to do so. But technically, it was Jason X 😂
Screenwriter Todd Farmer came up with the idea to set up the film in the future in order not to mess up with the continuity as the Freddy Vs Jason project was still in development.
I want a Friday the 13th movie taking place during the winter. Imagine Jason chasing someone across the frozen lake, or just his hulking sillouette in a blizzard.
One of the unmade sequels to Friday the 13th 09 was going be set in the winter. Can’t remember if that one or the found footage sequel got the closest to be made before the lawsuit.
Tara leaving the prozac behind, sending you massive hugs and wishing you the best. If the prozac was for depression I've been there and I wish you the best x
I remember the trailer using Bodies by Drowning Pool. That’s how 2000’s this movie was. And if I’m not mistaken, this movie was made so New Line could retain the rights to Jason, as Freddy vs. Jason was taking a long time to come together.
No, Sean Cunningham made it just to keep Jason in the public consciousness. But then because of a regime change at the studio while the movie was being made, the new people at New Line just sat on the movie for two years and it wound up coming out just a year before FvsJ anyway. New Line doesn't need to make Jason movies to "retain the rights." They had the rights lock, stock, and barrel.
You two are great together very entertaining! I hope they never end the horror shejects. Feel better tara, thank you for being such a trooper and doing the review so us fan have our weekly dose of the roxy and tara show.
Roxy-"Ok Underworld." Also Roxy-"Oh this is..with all the holes, what's that movie where they go through the ground and they fall through?" Me-Also Underworld LOL🤣
I love this movie! This version makes me think of the Alien movie franchise. For example, Jason Voorhees is the Xenomorph Alien, Rowan is Ripley, Professor Lowe is Burke, Fat Lou is Dallas, Sgt. Brodski is Corporal Hicks and Kay-Em 14 is Bishop. And Roxy, I loved how you mention how Jason Voorhees as The Terminator. I wish they would have used that new look of Jason Voorhees more in that movie.
I think there was plans for Freddy Vs Jason after Goes to Hell but it didn’t completely fall through so they did Jason X in the mean time and eventually made the anticipated matchup between Freddy and Jason.
Yeah. Freddy Vs Jason was in Development Hell for a long time. And it was planned initially to be in Hell for at least part of the movie. Ideas also included cameos from Pinhead, the Sentinel Spheres from Phantasm, and for Ash Williams to be the hero.
You "ring my bell" Tara! I'm on Wellbutrin and I know it can take some getting used to. I think you guys will love Freddy vs. Jason and I can't wait for your reaction.
Easily one of the top best films in the series. Some of the most memorable moments. One of the best kills, the funniest moment in the series with the sleeping bag simulation, one of the best designs of Jason, so much to love.
Sometimes you don’t feel well but you still have to go to work. I always say whether you win or loose get up in the morning and get dressed and go to work. 👍💯❤️😇
Freddy vs. Jason didn't come before Jason X because of a bunch of legal rights mumbo jumbo with the franchises. So they made Jason X to fill the time. At the time, a lot of the older slasher movie franchises were struggling to remain relevant or find new creating directions to explore, before remakes and reboots became the popular solution for revitalizing flagging franchises. Sending slasher villains into space became somewhat of a running joke in the industry, with a few franchises actually going ahead and doing it like Jason X, Leprechaun, and I think even Hellraiser.
"Freddy vs. Jason didn't come before Jason X because of a bunch of legal rights mumbo jumbo with the franchises" Not true. "Freddy vs. Jason" was struggling to be made because they couldn't find a script worth a damn. They were all these stupid meta stuff like the New Nightmare Freddy fighting a real guy they based the "Friday the 13th" movies on. Shit like that; writers thought they were being clever. Writers Shannon & Swift were the only ones to come in and say "Let's have Freddy from 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' fight Jason from 'Friday the 13th' and not ignore any of the previously-set adventures." And theirs was the script that was finally greenlit.
This one's a real guilty pleasure of mine. Has some nice kills, a fun "holodeck" 80s throwback scene and Kane Hodder in top form. It's campy, it's over the top, but it's also great brainless fun.
Even though it came out before it, this movie technically takes place after Freddy vs Jason. How Jason get's out of Hell is shown there, as simple as it is.
It just started and my stomach hurts 🤣 Roxy: “ok, this is giving me mega 2000s, I don’t know when this came out but,” 🤔 A few seconds later…, Roxy “I don’t know why but this is screaming 2002 right now”. Close, (imaginary high-five 🖐️) but it was 2001. Also, tell @ReelRejects to let you guys do the second season of “Chucky”, the fight is fixed but we are here for you 😂.
Wow, what an observation. Thank God everything else was done realistically in this movie. Otherwise, you might have thought that the movie has make fun of itself in generell.
@@TomTomson81 I'm Just saying I remember thinking about this when I was younger and played it off like oh jasons just really strong. But you ever rethink stuff when you get older and say wait a minute lol
@@Kidapollo92I do that all the time when rewatching films or watching current ones now that I’m a fully grown adult I watch movies and look at every scene and just randomly think “why didn’t they do this or have her go in the opposite direction instead of going into the path of destruction” then I’m like “it’s Hollywood” It’s fun to analyze scenes I know some don’t do that (cause it hurts their small brain) it makes the movie more interesting
Love you Tara, Im currently getting off of Vyvance and these watch throughs have been a great distraction! Freddy vs Jason is really good, all things considered. I think you will really like that one! I can't wait! Freddy va Jason, place your bets!
After Part VIII, New Line took over from Paramount but Paramount refused to let New Line used the "Friday The 13th" in the movie title, so that's why none of the New Line movies have that in its title. I taught Roxy has to say Robert Englund's name and though this was Kane's last movie, his last name is pronounced "hod - der" (short o and short e sounds). The actor that plays Jason in "Freddy Vs Jason" is Ken Kirzinger, which is the second time the character has killed a character that also played Jason. Ken was the restaurant worker in Part VIII that Jason throws into the mirror. In "Jason Goes To Kill," Kane killed himself, as Hodder played one of the police guards at the morgue. ... PS ... you need to do "The Wishmaster" movies!! PSS ... Love you Tara, you keep ringing that bell hon and we'll keep having your back and loving you NO MATTER WHAT!
Well, this is the funniest of them. When all else fails... send them to space. Chucky has not been to space yet, because they haven't run out of ideas.
Fun Fact? The actresses who Rowan & Kay-Em 14 (aka the android chick) were costars on "Andromeda" a syndicated space TV show with Kevin Sorbo that ran from 2000-to-2005. I remember watching Jason X back then and being like "Hold up: are those the people from Andromeda???" so this movie definitely has an early 2000's vibe for sure. Such a wacky entry in the series and I have no idea how the tied this into Freddy vs Jason.
One fun thing about this is the mum from Chucky and the Android were both filming the first season of the show Andromeda while doing the film where the mum from Chucky is an AI and yeh Android fork this film a human (they found the role reversal in this to be funny )
Hey Tara and Roxy. I haven’t had a chance to make comments to you too for a while so let me play a little catch up. First of all, Tara I know you are not feeling well. I see it and all the videos that you do with everybody else so I know you’re still going through a lot of stuff and just know that, we are all here for you and we support you and we wish you nothing but the best and please stay healthy and take care of yourself and besides your reject family all of us out here are honorary family as well. And as for you Roxy, you are so awesome and you are doing a fantastic job with the social media part of everything over there. I am completely addicted to the Instagram Posts now. Keep up the good work and hugs. Keep up the great work as always, my favorite HHG.
I went from welbutrin to prozac, honey!! Validating to see a sister going through it and still creating content!! Thanks for putting up such great stuff to help keep the sads at bay, I always look forward to the Shejects diving deeper into horror!!🥰🥰
The plan was to do Freddy vs Jason after Jason Goes to Hell, except the studios couldn't work things out for several decades...thus Jason X was created in the meantime.
Actually, I think this is my favorite in the franchise. It’s so ever the top. The kills were great. And, Tara, Wellbutrin saved me this year. Ten days. Day 11, a whole new world.
If y'all was paying attention when Jason was laying on that table for regeneration...he didn't have enough organic material to work with..so the nanobots took material from around him..ie metal table..... plus I love you Roxy❤❤❤❤❤❤
