April 18, 2008. On this day, the first match of the IPL was played. IPL is into its 17th season and has seen numerous players turn up for different franchises. Some players turned out to be only one-season wonders. The likes of MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik, who played in the inaugural IPL season, are still active and key to their respective sides. The talent IPL has unearthed is enormous. It has honed some of the superstars of world cricket. In this IPL special series ‘IPLchi Ratne Pt 1’, we look at three stellar players who made their name in the IPL before shining on the international stage. All three players hail from Gujarat. Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya were scouted and signed by Mumbai Indians and they’re integral to Mumbai’s success. Axar Patel was with Mumbai in 2013, but his breakthrough season was in 2014 with Punjab Kings. १८ एप्रिल २००८ ला IPLचा पहिला सामना खेळला गेला आणि २०२४मध्ये IPLचा १७वा हंगाम सुरु आहे. IPLने काही खेळाडू असे पहिले कि ज्यांचा प्रभाव केवळ एखाद-दोन हंगाम होता तर महेंद्र सिंह धोनी, विराट कोहली, रोहित शर्मा, दिनेश कार्तिक सारखे काही खेळाडू असे आहेत जे पहिल्या हंगामापासून आंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट आणि IPLमध्ये खेळत आहेत. IPLने केवळ भारतीय क्रिकेटच नव्हे तर जागतिक क्रिकेटला देखील एका वेगळ्या उंचीवर नेऊन ठेवलं. काही युवा आणि उभरत्या खेळाडूंची कारकीर्द IPLने घडवली.
