Honestly, I love the teaching from both individuals. They compliment each other. The point on functions really just being like operators was mind blowing.

That is such a fresh idea - working in pair! Makes delivery of the material more lively - thanks, guys! The only request - put the sequence numbers on the videos - hard to tell which one should be next.

I have no reason to lie. Every time the short guy starts saying something meaningful the tall guy makes it confusing. Then you guys start trying to impress each other with your knowledge instead of breaking it down for a beginner. Do your thing with no one else around little dude.

Great videos guys! Nice and easy format that is conducive to a gentle introduction. As a suggestion for Jared, the noise from playing with the cap of the marker is distracting... I know it's hard to resist (I have done it myself), but try holding the marker with only one hand! Thanks. Keep up the good work.

+Kevin Hockett If my understanding of this video is correct: you write a function. When you declare a variable in a function, it's in the local scope of that function. after the function is done executing, the variable is out scope.

Sorry I can not be silent. The tall guy just wants to make clear that he is very smart and knows more than anyone, he wants to make it look soooo difficult and complicated, very different like the another guy who it can tells that want to explain everything simple for all the people who don´t have a clue what is Javascript.

wow i like the teaching style... ,,programmers definatly have a problem with explaining WHY. Php .net is exactly the same... when the guy asks 'WHY'' do you use it?...its like,,,woah,,no one needs to know that... Thats all i ever ask when i try and self teach....WHY u doin that fool.

It was ok. You should have mentioned that you should only use one global variable. Think module pattern. Example: var myfunc = function() { function initAlert() { alert("hi there"); } function cleanUp() { alert("Clean your office"); } return { init:initAlert, clean:cleanUp } }(); /call your func: myfunc.init(); * This way you don't have to worry about any other program using familiar names. No collision. Thanx
