Agreed, its use of added instruments in the orchestra gives it a much grander feel, and to do that to John Williams' original score is pretty difficult, yet he made it even more epic!
@@TheAmateurEditor exactly, when it kicks in at 1:11 I always get the sense the shark is more like a pissed off train steaming down the tracks ready to kill anything in its way.

Personally didn't hate this movie, I actually kind of enjoy it. I don't know, maybe it's because I'm a huge Jaws fan and felt the return of Lorraine Gary was kind of cool, tied in with the "personal" aspect of it. I liked the cutaways to the original film too. Much better than Jaws 3, I think we can all agree on that.
Definitely the most epic version of the Jaws theme. I was glad the soundtrack to part 4 was released finally as I thought it was one of the best parts of the film.
When I was a kid around six years old I lived in Clearwater Florida and I was obsessed and I mean really obsessed with sharks. I would always watch Jaws before I went to the beach
1:28 through the end gave me chills! So menacing! The atmosphere this version of the song creates is top notch! I just wish it was used in a much better conclusion for the series
So many good scenes in this movie despite it's distinct lack of quality. The chase through the sunken ship, the attack at the beginning and Michael Caine's "oh shit!".
Personally I really enjoyed Jaws as a whole, it was and still is JAWSOME! That theme though, it makes the sharks in this film series out to be the most evil thing in the ocean. I love the main part, its so threatening and particularly for me as I cannot swim, sometimes orchestral music just can't be beat and this here is one prime example. I'm gonna close this comment out the best way I know, fin!
How on earth did Michael Small do such a good job scoring this movie when the the rest of the film so terrible? He gave this film a score it didn't deserve.
No It Wasn't. Acting Was Horrid, And The Shark Looked REALLLLY Fake, And The Retarded Ending, The Shark Roaring, Then Exploding After Getting Impaled, Its All Around A Terrible Mess.
Because it duplicates the opening scene of the first one very well, yet its much gorier, above the water mostly, and you empathize more because you know its Sean
This movie messed up big time, they had Shawn Brody on the water If you watched Jaws 3 you know he was afraid of the water, probably more so after what happened to his date Kelly, so why would he go on a boat on the water, in the same area he knew a Great White is actively hunting, killing and consuming humans?
To be fair, Jaws: The Revenge is often viewed as an alternate sequel to Jaws 2. Jaws 3 never happened. So Sean's views on the ocean may have been different.
While the film is a letdown- the soundtrack escalates the terror of the shark’s theme to new heights, it’s almost ghostly, keening with terror- the start is what sets the mood for it kicking into gear- Michael Small, to me, surpassed John Williams- the film didn’t do his score justice Xx

@gnc623 I didn't think that the movie was bad at all. In fact I enjoyed it because I'm a shark enthusiast. However I know that sharks don't, nor will they ever seek revenge. I think that the plot line for this story was adopted from the movie "Orca," only it involved a great-white shark. If one has an imagination, this is always a good movie to watch. The music was captivating as well; especially when Jaws was stalking the Neptune's Folly after Jake died.
Best Jaws theme song and movie, the 2nd being the original. Jaws 3-D was by far the worst Jaws movie of all time due to the slow motion pictures of the shark.
Joseph Hoffman Depth is such a great game. just wish they would release it for consoles as well. I ply on the pc and it sometimes lags, and the moving controls can be dicky sometimes.
I would 100% rather watch this movie than Jaws 3. In spite of how truly awful The Revenge is, it's an entirely watchable film in a so bad, it's good way. Jaws 3 is just B A D.
I prefer Jaws 3D. Jaws 4 was too ridiculous for its own good but it does have the superior music score in the series. But at least we got a semi-decent NES game out of it.
I prefer the first three Jaws films to be very enjoyable better than the 4th Entry "Jaws: The Revenge which did very Miserable. But to get one thing straight is that all Jaws films had wonderful Film Scores that is highly recommend to Enjoy listening to them. ♥️🤍💙
The fact the jaws 4 doesn’t get that good ending that we get to see the deleted scenes the part the jake was in the the thing about that jaws 4 still is the best
Agreed. That scene messed me up as a kid. I still think it’s pretty well done. Him screaming in terror juxtaposed with the peaceful Christmas was the only clever thing the director did lol Unfortunately the movie takes a nose-dive not long after the opening scene.
He's missing the pirate theme or at least a more divergent range in the piece, but the movie doesn't have a diverse theme either. Like Jaws 2 has the "teens having fun at the beach" interlude and Jaws has the "pirate" interlude. Ohhh well, Small is scoring to the movie and we know how the movie turned out by most accounts.
