Jax, I’ve never heard of you before in my life, but I got this song recommended to me by my girlfriend and I lost my mind when I saw this. It feels like a salute to the last nostalgic generation before the internet and technology took over. You’ve got a new fan, respect
I'd say that the 2000 did too because a lot of the technology that we have now we didn't exist yet, a lot of the app weren't a thing, RU-vid was really new and didn't really have anything. Like I was born in the early 2000 and I remember listening to music on a CD player, when I told my brother what a CD player was he looks at it like it's ancient and back then it was super cool that I had my own. A lot of early 2000 kids still went outside to play because we didn't have phones touch screens were a thing but they were new. We had razor scooters, and I had a tamagotchi, bratts, and littlest pet shops were a thing. And I remember my father's phone the 1st one I remember was a remember it was a flip phone and the 1st one I got had a keyboard. Technology didn't start to take over until the 2010s which around the time I got my 1st phone. My little brother who was born in the 2010s has a phone the phone that he listens to music or plays video games 24/7 on I had a CD player and and a gameboy of I was stuck inside.
You're only a 90s kid if you were born in the 80's. If you missed half of the decade then you're definitely NOT a 90s kid LOL...90's kids were kids ALL throughout the 90s not part of it.
I feel like we had the best of both worlds. We had Instant Messenger and ICQ to be more connected to friends and flirt with girls and awesome video games but it was all just an extension of the real world , not a replacement for it as it is for so many people today. I’m going to do my best to raise my kids to appreciate the real world over the digital one but I have a feeling it will be a battle.
@@Justme0288 you misunderstood. By even mentioning the word underrated makes her underrated. There's no need to even mention it. Just appreciate her music and she'll get recognition as she already is.
I was born in 86, but I still consider myself a 90s kid since that's where the majority of my memories come from. I absolutely LOVE this. Talk about fun nostalgia ♥️
'86 too... *we are* the '90s kids. Jax is a '90s baby, like my little sister... they might get the references now, but they were literal babies when many of these things actually first came out.
Same 84. 90s where absolutely best time to grow up. So much innocent fun, great music, outside with friends 24/7, getting into so much fun trouble, wouldn’t trade it for a thing
Jax has no idea that she's kept me from some dark moments I'm currently say at 4.48am listening to her because for some reason her voice calms me ❤ absolute idol one day I hope to meet her ❤
I’m still here- keep it up- the hard moments are worth those wonderful times ahead that you cant even predict. I’m late gen X, almost 50, tried a lot to not be here. I’ve been so happy in those uplifting times that i forgot those hard times. I don’t know who you are- but i can promise you with absolute certainty that you are worthy of all the love. I’d have your back in those hard times, even if you were a stranger i saw on the street. You are enough. You are worthy. Your story is not over yet- i hope you are still with us. I saw your comment and it reached out to me. Be good (i always say that’s boring as a JOKE, internet censors, when my sweet friend says that to me), and take care.
As someone who was born in 1985, I can attest to the fact that being a kid in the '90s was an unforgettable experience. To me, both the '80s and '90s were the last great Golden age of kids and teenagers. During that time, you had everything that a child could ask for - the latest music, memorable family trips, toys that sparked your imagination, movies and TV shows that left a lasting impression, and a sense of adventure that was unmatched. Looking back, I can't help but feel nostalgic for those days - they were truly special.
I was born in 1995 so to be fair, i can't remember much from the 90's but the earlys of 2000 till 2010 was pretty much the same as the 90's.. I would go back in a heartbeat. Where the kids actually played outside without their phones.. Where your parents told u to come home when the lights go on.. Where we actually talked to one and other face to face... I miss it.
Lyrics : Whoa Tell 'em that we do it for the '90s It's our generation We need conversation In a nation with no communication A little Easy-Baked We're kinda lost, yeah But we're on a break, man Rachel and Ross said We're going down with the ship, Leonardo Put on your Boks and your Docs And we'll kick it at the bar No cash but we turn it up to ten though Fam, I'm just tryna get Super Smashed Nintendo So light it up, up We're hella fucked up Take a hit me one more time Like Britney, bitch Bottoms up, up Here's to us Tell 'em that we do it for the '90s kids (whoa) Tell 'em that we do it for the '90s kids (whoa) Tell 'em that we do it for the '90s Chilling on the rooftop Smushing bread stalls Wasting more white You're killing me, Smalls (You're killing me, Smalls) We're going down with the ship, Leonardo Put on your Boks and your Docs And we'll kick it at the bar No cash but we turn it up to ten though Fam, I'm just tryna get Super Smashed Nintendo So light it up, up We're hella fucked up Take a hit me one more time Like Britney, bitch Bottoms up, up Here's to us Tell 'em that we do it for the '90s kids (whoa) Tell 'em that we do it for the '90s kids (whoa) Tell 'em that we do it for the '90s Do you got a tamagotchi Like a real tamagotchi Does you know what tamagotchuu If you tamagotmee (Oh no, it died) So light it up, up We're hella fucked up Take a hit me one more time Like Britney, bitch Bottoms up, up Here's to us Tell 'em that we do it for the '90s kids (whoa) Tell 'em that we do it for the '90s kids (whoa) Tell 'em that we do it for the '90s
Okay this was literally a tribute to the scene in Sandlot where they all tried chewing tobacco then threw up when they went to the fair. Ham burped after the ride was done and said "thats better" in the movie, and I LOVE that it was recreated for this! 90s kids are the best. ❤❤❤
You wouldn't last 2 seconds without the internet hun. We had to play outside and call our friends on the home phone, which would ring forever or if you were lucky, the dad would answer and say your friend's out there on his bike and then you'd have to get out and find them around the neighbourhood.
@@myliamag.6512u know not every single kid born after the 90's are addicted to the internet. and u know, maybe she was actually born before the 90's. so stop being mean bc ppl like me still play outside most of the day.
Omg I thought it looked like him and then when he said "You're killing me, smalls!" I was just like YEAH! I just recently watched the show for the first time with my dad and it is just amazing.😁
I thank the world everyday I was born in the early 90s,growing up as a kid without internet access ,social media ,easy phone access etc was a blessing and no music these days comes close to comparing with 90s songs 👌What a decade to be alive ! 😁
I really resonated with this song.. it's so sad to me that internet and computers kind of ruined it for me. Even early 2000 would suffice but this new generation makes me sad. Wish it was the 90's again.
@@ashert4918 But the world they have to contend with IS worse, you can't deny that- I don't envy Gen Z or Gen Alpha, if they make it through ww3 they are still gonna have to repair the climate, and capitalism can't sustain itself at this rate, it'll have to collapse and be re-built into something better or it's going to be rich folks and the people who serve them (it's basically that way now, and if Republicans have their way... We are all screwed, haha. Well, everyone but the 1%, they gonna be golden, living in their moon colonies while we slave away to produce goods for them on the toxic remnants of a smouldering Earth...) I literally believe that will be the future, if we don't stand up NOW for real human rights... Anyway. Sorry to go there, I just can't stop thinking about it all, it's a messed up world we are trying to live in rn, and it SCARES ME...
Late 80s baby but the 90s raised me. Love this and all her other songs so far! Loved seeing the Great Hambino on here. I've got my kids watching the Sandlot on a regular basis- they love it!
Happy to see Jax is getting the popularity she deserves. I remember her from the Meadowland and American Idol days! Can't wait to keep seeing you blow up
What's funny is Jax was 3 in 1999 and much of her childhood was spent in the 2000s rather than the 90s. I think she meant 90s Borns, not kids tht are actually growing up in the 90s
I was watching this video, and the MOMENT I saw the guy from The Sandlot, I messaged my friend who sent this to me. I was SUPER excited! LOVE IT!!! And then continued the callback to The Sandlot with them hurling! EPIC!!! Ah... my childhood is super happy about this one.
Yes!!!! I was born in 84 but I only remember the 90s and those were the best times. So much change in a short life span, makes you wonder what else will happen before our demise
I remember seeing this and I thought it was really good, and it very much is! After she made the Victoria's Secret song I now think she may be my favorite artist!
Same! I was just looking through her other music because I heard Victoria’s Secret on the radio again. Now I’m having Problem Child 2 flashbacks. 😂 still one of the grossest scenes I’ve ever watched. Murder, gore, I’m good. Someone pukes, I’m outta here. 😅
This song is so beautiful. I want to go back to 90's before the world got all messed up. It really shows how things were so much better before iphones and tiktoks overtook the world.
I am pregnant and feeling nauseated this morning. I didn't expect to watch your video today and see puking! That being said I absolutely LOVE this song and video!!! It instantly took me back to the scrambler ride when I was 10 and hit me with all the nostalgia... or maybe I should say nausea-stalgia? :)
@@jaxwritessongs no need to apologize! Nausea is temporary, nostalgia is forever lol! I am super excited for you and can't wait to see you grow in your career. Congrats on your success!!! Keep kicking butt and writing awesome music!!! ♡
This is a good song. It reminds all of us that everyone makes mistakes in Lifes. It is the truth. No Body is Perfect. It is the Reality of Our Human Nature. Good work Jax.
Just be home by dinner- on our bikes and in the woods everywhere. No anxiety or adhd or depression. Go figure it out. Don't embarass your parents and don't hurt yourself. Miss it so much!
Kids born in the mid-90’s absolutely experienced this stuff she’s singing about, even more so than the wannabe 90’s kids who were born in the late 70’s and early 80’s
@@justthefacts4443 A 90's kid is someone whose primary teen years (13 - 19) “came of age” DURING the 90's. Therefore the “CORE” group of 90's kids would have been born between 1976 to 1982.
Thank you for this song. Honestly, the past three years Iv felt not myself, Iv recently started to feel something stir inside of me again and this song helps remind of who I am and what makes me awesome and resilient. That’s so corny lol but it’s the truth 😊
I cannot get enough of this. We needed a 90's kids anthem 💚 The video is awesome! The ride reminds me of what it feels like looking back on those years. A whirlwind of things, some things fun, some things 'came back up' later in life, but all in all, what a ride it was.
I immediately looked up Jax on RU-vid after seeing how good your songs were on tiktok. I dont regret it at all. Huge fan! Love love love all your songs
Love you Jax! This is pure nostalgia. I was born in 1992 . It's literally the best generation ever ! . We were the last generation to play outside , build snow forts , play with tomagatchis and Nintendo 64, sleepovers and 3 way calling . Thanks for making this song . You are a gem 💎 ✨️
Hehe I will have you know I was born in 2008 and have done all of those things except tomagatchis and Nintendo 64, but I've also never had ANY kind of gaming console sooo.... lol
@@jenhisdee you must be really naiive to say something like that. If I'm born in 1992 how the eff am I NOT apart of the 90s generation lol. 😅🤣 Edit : also the internet was just beginning to become normal in early 1990s and in 1992 the term " surfing the net " became popular. So yes . I did grow up with internet. Smfh. Do your research before you come online and try to g check them about when they were born and what they were born with ✌️
@@sinanylmaz8387 uhm bro... anyone Born in 1990- 99 is a 90s kid. Sorry to burst your bubble. I am a 1992 baby. Therefore I am a 90s kid. You guys will literally argue about anything and everything lol. This is exactly why I deleted all my social media lmfao. Toxic af.
I’m born in the really late 2000s and this is my favorite song anyways, all my friends were born in the really early 2010s and yet my favorite decade is the 90s because I love the music, the games, the everything. This song is everything. You’ve gained a fan!! Love your music!! This song was all nostalgia.
