best dance so far love his focus and intensity and he's only 25!

This waltz was magic. I cant stop watching it. Simply a winner!! They both looked so beautiful on the dance floor. Jay for the finals - definitely!!

How lovely is this ,could watch forever! What a haircut can do eh?!!!!

I can't believe it's taken me 4 years to figure this out but I finally get it. Aliona did something very VERY clever with her choreography. She choreographed two completely different Waltz's. Up until the :53 mark it was a very Standard Waltz, I saw Natural and Reverse Turns, a Double Reverse Spin, Double Lock steps, a Contra Check, I think a Whisk, it was a classic Silver/Gold Syllabus Standard Waltz which Jay did BRILLIANTLY then after :53 it COMPLETELY changed into American Smooth Waltz which is more Open and lyrical. Again something Jay did Brilliantly. She basically taught him two completely different styles of waltz, one more technically challenging and restrictive the other more expressive and lyrical. She showed the audience and judges that Jay was both technically and expressively talented, that he was going to be a force to be reckoned with. All of that in week 2. Aliona has two trophies because she was the best teacher, choreographer, and dancer that strictly had to offer.

This dance was so intense, graceful, romantic & overlooked as one of their greats! Beautifully lyrical! You couldn't tell how nervous he was until it finished & he "returned to the present" he was really lost in it. Never get tired of watching it!!!

I love how graceful his arms and hands are. He dances to his very fingertips and completely keeps up with her extensions and gestures.

Two years on and they are still the best couple ever. Jay has wonderful grace and elegance. Beautiful.

I must have watched this 100 times if not more.... Love the intensity and the little smiles he gives Aliona. He manages to combine being in command and gentleness all in one - what a dream :) Love the hair too.

This just blew me away completely!!! For my money he never put a foot wrong, strong and assertive and led the dance!!! Like all great performances he made it look effortless. He's my favourite to win and I can't wait to see him dance again! Meanwhile, I'll keep watching this...I'm hooked :-)

Wow I can't help but smile when I watch this it was so romantic and effortless. Jay you are amazing u will go far in this competition wow and the little smile he gave Aliona near the end was beautiful can't wait to see you next week

yes he was nervous "but he would perform to thousands of people on stage so how could he be so nervous?" maybe bc the lime light was equally shared on 5 guys and now bc its only him its alot of pressure as everyone is watching his every move. And secondly everyone gets nervous no matter how many times you do something

Wonderful! Wonderful choreography.. Aliona looks ravishing in the arms of an able partner, and the beautiful teacher/pupil relationship is touching to see.

This is my favourite dance of the night. It was so romantic and gentle. There is a real connection between Aliona and Jay. I wonder if the rumours are true. Jay could not take his eyes off her. I loved his turns and his arm movements and his posture. I think he is genuinely nervous and who wouldn't be. Plenty of the other contestants have some 'dance experience' also. Good luck to all the contestants but presently I am rooting for Pete, Jay and I love how Katie moves too.

i dont normally like the waltz but this gave me chills, these two have great chemistry. my new fave couple I think, best dance of the night!

People moaning about people having dance backgrounds.. He is in the music industry he most likely will have had performance training because that is obviously what he has always been interested in! Caroline flack last year had had a little training which makes sense seeing as she is in Television, all of these people have performance backgrounds and it is unsurprising that they make it onto the show seeing as the producers will want to make sure there are some guaranteed good dancers in there as that is what the people at home want! All kinds of celebrities whether singers, actors, presenters etc will have had some kind of training; obviously it is brilliant when an athlete or a chef or somebody with no training turns out to be amazing but the producers will want some dead certs in there. By no means are any of these people professional dancers or even close, so many people in this country will have had a few dance lessons in their lives, just chill out people!!!!!

The most beautiful dance and people. I loved and still love Jay and Aliona dearly. Than I understood when your stars are aligned nothing can change or stop you to experience the most successful moments in your life.

Just Beautiful.

I actually prefer this to the jive - even though that was sensational. There was so much romance and feeling in this dance; you can see how much he cares for her, even though we know there is nothing going on between them. I hope this is the judges' choice for the final on Saturday. He's bound to do the jive again, but I would love to see if or how he could improve on what I think is perfection.

One of my favourite waltzes ever on Strictly.

Perfect. I thought his facial expressions,general demeanor fitted the dance beautifully,they added to the drama of a very electric,intense dance. Only a waltz yet it was as dramatic as any dance I've seen on the show. Great choice of music! Weren't his spins fantastic!

Jay and Aliona's jive was so epic that their wonderful waltz before that has gone unnoticed. This is when Jay singled himself out as the winner and the jive only cemented that.

he just needs to emote more and show some personality... he's pretty dull so far.

He can win but he needs to develop a personality as he comes across as Mr Bland.

Does jay have some type of neural problem? he comes across as very awkward individual. he can dance, but he's had plenty of dance classes in his life to at least do that well, I can't connect with him though and it all comes back to his weird personality.

does anyone else think that jay's movements especially his arms are very feminine?
