Jay Siegel of The Tokens 

The Tokens were students at Abraham Lincoln High School in Brooklyn. At first, they were named the Linc-Tones. Originally composed of Neil Sedaka, Hank Medress, Eddie Rabkin, and Cynthia Zolotin, Jay Siegel replaced Rabkin in 1956. They recorded "While I Dream" in 1956. The next year Sedaka and Zolotin departed, so Siegel and Medress brought in Mitch and Phil Margo. This was the group that recorded "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" in 1961. Jay Siegel tells Tom the story of The Tokens, and how their song became such a recognizable and popular song, even 14 years into the 21st Century.
