When Jay was brought in, I'll admit I wasn't happy because Joey was so iconic and a beast on the drums. But Jay blew my expectations away! Seriously a bad decision firing him.
saw slipknot back in jan 2020 at the 02 arena first slipknot gig i went to with my dad for my 19th birthday and having Jay give me one of his drum sticks will never leave my memory's till i die. Thx Jay you really pissed my brother off cause he was in the sitting area stuffing his face with pizza.
in life you'll meet two types of people, those that build you up and those that tear you down. in the end you'll thank both. thank you for the build up jay.
thanks for being one of the best part of slipknot. personally doubted you but the moment I saw a footage of you performing (people=shit) I already knew that you can carry JJ's legacy. Missing you Jay! Goodluck and take care
@@107rudrasingh7 I don't think you're gonna find the answer in youtube comments, man. Haha. All we know is that they said it was a "creative decision."
Pretty sure they cut Jay because his talent was dwarfing everyone else in the band, not "moving in different directions musically". There isn't a direction he can't go. Maybe we'll see him in Megadeth or something soon.
I've seen Slipknot twice since 2014. I realize that's not a significant dent in the Slipknot money machine, but I feel like the turnover is a Corey and Clown problem. I've spent my last dollar on supporting Slipknot.
When music is mixed, each instrument must stand out in the mix and not mask the other instrument. So, particularly here the reason the snare is tuned high is because the guitars are tuned low. If you listen carefully, you'd notice it's not standard guitar tuning. This is often done to make them sound heavier, e.g. Metallica's "Sad but true".
