Facts....Ari is a real hiphop head. He will drop KRS-1 or Rakim lyrics too, not just new artists. Thursday is the day he usually incorporates it and may bring on an artist. Fat Joe was on a few months ago.
JayZ don't care about Black communities, , he has billion of dollars, and does very little for Black communities, you go to our Black communities and see businesses own by Arabs, Chinese, West Indies,Italians for decades.
I came back to this great review of Hov's verse by Ari after listening to GOD Did today. Ari if you see this, start a RU-vid channel reviewing bars of great rap verses. 💯
I feel like I know what you were going for, but it you're sentence is lacking. Jay-z does the analogy in his prose, Ari does an in-depth discussion, breakdown, exploration of that art.
This reporter know his stuff, great report . The fact that you took the time to listen and break down punchlines I can respect and appreciate it. Quadruple bars ….. He solidified…
That would be a called quadruple entendra. A bar is a sentence. Saying something like..my bars and sentences could get me bars and sentences. That's an example of an entendra. I apologize for the fiery response..I'm passionate about these things.
This guy is so knowledgeable he amazes me, we all know he is college educated and very successful in our legal system, but he has just proven his Street Knowledge!!!
Ari Melber is a hip hop head, he regularly uses hip hop references that confuse his fellow white coworkers (I'm sure there's montages of his rap quotes) on his broadcasts. He also gave a solid heartfelt tribute to DMX when he passed. Respect because he's a true fan.
Best American song writer.Keep in mind. Sean Carter is gifted and writes songs in his head that he sees, in a timeframe of 15 minutes.Who can do that? Jay -Z
How can u speak on anything on the culture. When your not from the culture. We need to stop letting ppl like you. Depicting the people and trying to shade light on our world. Stop! Stop stop!! We need ppl from OUR communities to explain our situation. Not a liberal fucc like you sir!!!!
Soon, the Leftists will jump ship. They will pretend they never supported Ukraine, never pushed the jabs, never condoned censoring scientists/journalists, never discriminated family/friends, etc. They will pretend none of this ever happened. We must ensure they NEVER forget.
9:57 And because it's MSNBC, even though Melber went out of his way to point out quadruple entendres in certain parts of his analysis, he is NEVER allowed to criticize the donkeys (or Dems) by name... So, no thanks, Ari!
He is being doing this for years. I remember when I first listened to him "wait was that a bar? O here's another one. This guy doing this during a news segment? " I was hooked
and no genre offers a scathing rebuke of America's hypocrisies quite like hip hop does. maybe the likes of bob dylan, joni mitchell, joan baez, and woody guthrie hit similar tones. but that was 60 yrs ago... i'm a white female and i haven't seen better modern social commentary on America than I have in hip hop. Mos Def, Aesop Rock, Tobe Nwigwe, JayZ, Arrested Development, NWA, and so on...a lot of em are just truth tellers. And sometimes the truth hurts.
Now this is what a true journalist should look like. Go where most people won’t go, talk on subjects that most fear to mention or discuss. This should have went globally viral. Sir keep doing what your doing, bringing truth to some people who refuse to see it for the way it is. Thank you 🙏🏽
I've always admired Ari's viewpoint on many things politics, but more importantly how most of us view life and the retrospective analysis that comes with it. I knew that he would have some great insight on these lyrics and utilize his ability to breakdown each bar, perhaps to others he felt needed to hear the same message of the hypocrisy that exist in our justice system who doesn't have the same ear for the music as he does. The ability to connect us all in a particular space requires someone of stellar character and conviction. Ari for me has been one of those exemplary individuals with the competence to do so. Much props for this one.
This is Absolutely Incredible!! One of my favorite pieces you’ve ever done! As much as I like to think I’m aware, everyone can always be more mindful outside of their own perspective. Thank YOU! I’ll be thinking about this and referring back to it often.
J Z is brilliant as a wordsmith, poet, musician and businessman. I appreciate Sri giving him props because he is more than likely misunderstood by mainstream Americans.
Most MCs are brilliant and don't get the props as the powers that be don't want the masses to be woke. The likes of Public Enemy, Rakim, Black Thought, Planet Asia, Mos Def, Nas , KRS , just to name a few have been brilliantly rhyming about all this for decades and is purposely not promoted like they promote the ignorant 'Lil's ' Trap .
@@PLBoogie But during the 1990s of Hip Hop it was a whole lot of rap beef going on. Like NWA and Biggie and Tupac and Three 6 Mafia versus Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. And 50 Cent versus Ja Rule in 1998. Because one of 50 Cent's homies actually robbed Ja Rule. And then you have Mobb Deep versus Jay Z. And then you had LL Cool J versus cannabis. And then you had Tupac versus Nas and Jay Z and De La Soul. And then you had Eminem and D12 versus Ja Rule. And then you had Ice Cube versus Cypress Hill. I'm not saying that none of those rappers weren't knowledgeable because they were. But at the same time they were young and they didn't have a care in the world. And the only thing they did was diss each other over the songs that they released.
@@PLBoogie The rap industry back in the '90s was just as bad as it is now. Because during the 90s and the early 2000s it got so bad. That the managers of the nightclubs have to shut some of the concerts down. Because LL Cool J and cannabis didn't squash that beef until 2014. It was some education and some of the songs they put out back in the day. But it was more rap beef going on during the '90s than it was knowledge.
Ari, coming correct again with the Hip Hop knowledge as social commentary. Ari Melber is the biggest hip hop head in news casting. Consistently proving himself with the lyrical hip hop quotes. A+.
@@dadon8006 🤣🤣🤣 must be wonderful to live in a comfortable fantasy land where you don't have to acknowledge reality... all sides are responsible for the war on drugs but 1 side is a particular problem when they say things like "let them die" when they are asked for justification for why they wouldn't make noloxone available over the counter or they call themselves the party of law and order, or they continue to invest in law enforcement to deal with a problem we know can't be resolved with brute force instead of treatment, or they run treatment centers out of their towns and states... tell me friend how many methadone treatment facilities are in Wyoming???
@@kurthayes2614 No, you’re just delusional if you think otherwise. Biden and his 1994 criminal bill, are the reason why people were sentenced to lengthy prison sentences for drugs. Trump, the one who passed the First Step Act, that allowed people to have a second chance, that serving lengthy prison sentences because of war on drugs.
Love the exposure of the culture ♥️this verse is definitely a work of art and usually only hip hop heads will crack all the codes . To see it being done on mainstream media is taking it to another level . Shot out 2 HOV . Living legend
Hearing Ari on a national news network use real journalism to decode timeless lyrics by Jay-Z made me tear up. Seriously. Ari is a national treasure. 🙏🏾💯
This leftist media outlet just wants u to feel included in their bs it's just propaganda. Jay-Z is a sell out. They use him to help brainwash dumb niqqas
I just finished watching "The Dark Side of Henry Kissingger: The Dirty Secrets of the Nixon White House" recently re-released on RU-vid. I am an elder that is amazed constantly how much I thought I knew and don't. This was a good presentation Thanks Ari
Are you aware Roger stone has been your president since that hoax? It took till trump to dismantle that boys pedophile trafficking evil that Watergate HOAX covered up? Do you know that's what created the deep state? SES.. every lie will be revealed, we're at war, it started 9/11

Both Jay Z and Farrakhan have (and had)that truth and passion. And still this same war goes on with ignorant, repressed racist whites today. When Farrakhan apologized to Wallace for getting riled up, I felt like crying. No apology needed.
When you have a newscaster breaking down your bars it’s real telling. Jay-Z bars will go over your head if you don’t analyze lyrics. Wheezy and Rozay was 🔥🔥🔥🔥. It’s what Jay- Z has done in this verse that got the net buzzing. I love this. Clearly he or his ppl are hip hop heads.
It's not just Nixon and Trumps war on drugs. Joe Biden had a huge part in bringing in the draconian drug laws and mandatory minimums. Total liberal hypocritical myopia.
That’s why they don’t want the word “Woke “ in the dictionary. People are beginning to wake up to the truth! Great job Ari . Thank You for the truth telling!
yup. ... thats why trump supporters hate wokeness because they're all asleep in a dream where they are superior , always right , fake news isnt Trump trying to thwart the truth with a saying that reduces everyone who criticize trump to those 2 words.. they're always right and Hillary Clinton eats babies for breakfast ...
@@weezyfkitty cuz they know that woke people can see through the lies and facade they feed to the gullible trump supporters. so instead of actually educating themselves about issues they'd rather just make wokeness seem like its a negative thing when its actually not ....
The truth? Louis Farrakhan is a terrorist, he failed to mention why the Japanese were bombed, he also failed to mention the millions of civilians from China, Philippines, Malaysia, Burma, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Korea, and multiple Pacific Islands that were all murdered by them and let's not forget all the comfort women that were kidnapped for most of the same countries and murdered by them when they were finished with them. Oh and he didn't mention the war that they started with all of the same places and countries and occupied them with a brutality rarely seen in the history of the world. That's Louis Farrakhan the one-sided racist.
@cool breeze that's dumbest thing i ever heard. soo you come here putting money in their pocket? lol I dont like Arby's. I'm not going into Arby's buy a sandwich. Sit Down and eat it. Then complain how bad it is. That's how you sound..
Hiphop has been revealing the problems of US society for long time. It's just that majority of government and society has looked at it in a selfish manner rejecting that policies and their own actions historically have led to it. People these days are now starting to realize that addiction is becoming a big problem in this nation as its not just colored folks with this problem. Pharma, law enforcement and politicians have profited off addiction rather than treat it. The entire medical system is designed to funnel you onto a solution that requires dependacy on it. Usually thru pills or injections. It's all about money.
Salute to you I can tell that you're really a fan just trying to be professional about it. Jay-Z is definitely brilliant and the brilliant ones understand his language.
Only the blind by this scum of the earth gov in usa thinks, that they are free or have freedom. You have 90% of the USA gov that should be hung in the streets Like saddam. The media covers only what the get paid for or actually they are bought by the same people that commit all these fraud and killings. Facts that are produced to the public in a different way. 1 Bush sr was the biggest drug lord, but they showed you someone else. The usa has committed more murder around the world than any other war. One great nation blessed by God, but rotten by its government.
The genocide on native American. The slavery of African people.the Jim crow law. The segregation. The voting fraud of gereimamdering. The so-called politicians who are being bought by ritch people and companies. Companies who dictate laws. Companies who are investigating thete in crime. Police who are killing a whotout being held accountable . Police who are stopping and criminalising black and brown people more than white people. Filling the jails with black and brown people even when they are innocently. Currupt judges and prosecutors who are punishing black and vrown people more than white people. And you can go on and on. What do you think about all the country's who were invaded, their government being replaced by currupt dictators by the US?
So refreshing to hear something grassroots affecting the not so prosperous people of America. Rather than about the corrupt politicians who want to further ruin your country. Thanks from Australia Ari.
Ari was raised in the golden era of 90s hip hop with the likes of Biggie, JayZ, Nas and more. Very intricate breakdown and deep analysis. Jay-Z has done this before by referencing the late BIG throughout his 444 album, check out the video.
This is a professors 7 in 1 college course. Hip hop, business, street hustle, writing, government, history and poetry all in one! Well done Ari as usual.
You would think we could do better. America is all about white power. The laws don't protect people of color. The US Constitution doesn't pertain to people of color.

The rap verse from Jay Z on the song "God Did" is the most epic rap verse ever spoken. Jay Z by far is the greatest rapper of all time because not only is his poetry well spoken and true, but his life and success in life reflects the journey and gives all of us hope of overcoming all odds!
With or without the journalists from other worlds, Hip-Hop’s success or successes is telling in the global consumption, global participants, especially the racially prejudice Latino, or Chicano rapper causing controversy about not having the desire to be signed to a black recording label - but is a rapper. Seoul, South Korea has too many scenes of hip-hop dancers…music producers, graffiti art, dj’ing…all of hip-hop’s elements are and have spread GLOBALLY.
Also Jay-Z is providing points of reference so listeners can look the interview w Mike Wallace up themselves and continue to learn the history that so many politicians have the luxury of ignoring... he's educating his audience.
I lived in parts of Asia for 20 years where there was a LOT of very visible corruption. I used to tell people that America wasn't corrupt like that. I cam back and MAN. I guess my eyes had been opened or something.

This verse by Jay is the tip of the iceberg. Rappers have been delivering double, triple and quadruple entrandes for years. Punchlines. set ups, wordplay, the vocal gymnastics are at times mind blowing. Hip Hop didn't become the number on genre of music by accident. The depth of the bars takes you far beyond the music and the catchy hooks. It's written in a code that's heard by many and mostly understood by only those who it's written for. Excellent piece of journalism.

Just as illegal drugs were intentionally flooded into poor black neighborhoods, beginning with heroin in the '70s and later crack cocaine, the same thing is happening today with illegal guns being trafficked into several majority black urban cities in the U.S.
