On this day in Music - 15 Nov 2007 Jay-Z went to No.1 on the US album chart with American Gangster his 10th No.1 album. This made the rapper joint second with Elvis Presley for the most No.1 albums on the chart; only The Beatles have had more, with 19. Since 1998, all eight of Jay-Z's solo studio albums had hit No. 1, in addition to his Collision Course project with Linkin Park and his Unfinished Business collaboration with R. Kelly.
"Blame Reagan for making me a monster, Blame Oliver North and Iran Contra, I ran contraband that THEY sponsored, before this rhyming stuff we was in concert"
+whatthehellvideos, this compelled me to dig up on the scandal. Bruh, the list of illegal conduct by the Reagan administration goes far and wide. it's shocking and saddening how forgetful we are as a people to support people today who, back in the day, were involved in some of the most heinous, treasonous, callous acts imaginable. damn.
+cheruzaleming No truer words were ever spoken smdh...All you hear now is how wonderful Reagan was. But the inner city and urban communities around the country are still feeling the effects of those villianous policies today.
Funny thing is he accused Nas of contradicting himself in Blue Print 2 “is it oochie wallie or black girl lost” and here he says I can triple that in Birds but in U Don’t Know from BP1 “could make 40 off a brick but one rhyme could beat that”.... which one is it!
I think Blueprint 2 is even more un appreciated, Top 5 definitely in my list. This album was commercially successful and was basically “Jay Z’s comeback” after having released a not so hot ‘Kingdom Come.’ and I know we can all definitely accept the fact that Kingdom come is his weakest project.

Long story short joc did an interview about him being in the studio listening to beats, and jay z came in while they were playing, jay z complemented the beat said he liked it. joc didn't like the beat, jay z said he did and asked again "ok you sure you don't like it" he said no hov got the beat..that beat turned into the song "blue magic".
One of the smoothest songs ever made in hip-hop. Jay Z flow is for the most part smooth as butter but on this track, it's on another level. SMH. Jay the GOAT 🐐🙏
I see why Joc may have passed on it you gotta have bars for this junt. Joc was selling swag not lyrics he knew his lane and outta respect he passed on it. Jigga killed it but I can hear Pusha and Malice all over this junt. We like different shit down south but I personally think I would ride this junt with ease. Salute to all the MCs and real nixxas mane! 💪🏾💯✔️ - a South Memphis nixxa was here 🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾
@@derricksmith8311 seriously man, if only people nowadays could understand how crazy complex his raps are. All they know about Jay-Z is that he's an A-list celebrity and that he was a rapper that's it smh
Y'all saying this is trash because of what Young Joc said. I ain't going lie he would of killed this but I'm glad he passed the beat. This beat isn't his style and it would of flopped bad if it wasn't for Jay. This is still one Jay's best songs. Sorry Joc I still love and respect you.
Too good for the game. Jay Z has evolved in the rap game as his maturity in life evolves. What I'm saying is that his bars/lyrics fit each style of his personal escalated maturity. When 30, one rap like he's 30, not 17. And Jay z has mastered the evolvement of rap. #THINKER!
